OK, aside from the 11 day way, they would not accept my "proof of residency" because my bills were printed off the internet because ... I do not have paper bill, only "eBills"!!

So, apparently, my printer ink is not good enough for them, they need real gen-u-wine PG&E printer ink.

But that's not the kicker, as a Green Card holder, I need 3 months of bills. No problem, but while they were behind the "office" cubicle, one employee says to the other "Next time don't sell to resident aliens", the sales guy says "Oh, we're not supposed to?" and the first guy says "No, it's just better not to" ... ?! WTF!?

Well, I guess I feel safer knowing that Big5 employees are implementing their own interpretation of the Federal and CA law to protect citizens against legal immigrants. Thanks Big5! And thanks for protecting people from people who pay their bills online!


So, I think I'll take my business elsewhere. If I do see a good deal at Big5, it'll be at a different one.

Oh yeah, Sunnyvale Big5, I have no problem mentioning the store.

Bring it to the managers or corporate's attention. Nothing can be done if people in charge don't know whats going on. Then if there is no change I would think about not going back there.

Ha they told me that .223/5.56mm is not a popular round! Then the manager told me that he shoots sub moa at 600 yards and on a bad day a 2" group. I could not help but laugh in his face! He looked at me like he was going to kick my ***! Oh man good times.

You will have the same issue at most gun stores with the proof of residency thing. Most wont accept bills at all and ask for valid vehicle registration in my personal experience's. Vehicle registration works every time and since you most likely drove there, you should have it with you right? On the other issue, I would complain to the manger or someone higher up, that was some racist BS that we know Big 5 doesn't want to be attached to.

I think it depends on the employee as well, when I started the DROS, the guy helping me looked at my forms (I had 3 internet-printed bills) but I was missing yet another month (he actually counted the days, because I need 90 days of proof). You know, just incase I only lived in my house for the 70 days accounted for on the 3 bills. BUT he never said anything about the printouts.

So I'll be back tomorrow, or Wednesday, after I try and dig out some recent bills that are not eBills. I can only think of credit card bills or Mortgage bills.

OR, I can print out my PG&E bills again, but on a colour printer

uhhh its Big 5 (I call 'em big lots), they are all really bad when it comes to the firearms portion of the store. I can never get a straight answer on pricing over the phone for ammo, they always confuse the caliber numbers for prices on the ammo boxes.

Exactly. Unless you plan on stealing product from the store, their house = their rules. Ridiculous as it may seem, their corporate answer to everything is to go way over top. Can't say as I blame them, since they have so many stores. Still, they obviously have no concern for training their employees either.

My shotgun is paid for, in FULL, by me, 11 days ago. I've waited the 10+1 days and the DOJ didn't send a letter saying "Screw that guy, he can't have it". So, it's my gun, right? They won't give it to me because I use eBills?
