Big 5 Interstate Arms Hawk 982?

Consensus is the 982 is a Chinese clone of the 870. When boiled down, the criticism is that it is Chinese. AFAIK, it is Chinese military issue.

I just checked out the Hawk for the first time. It appears to be rock solid... and VERY good attention was put into precise part compliance.

I just called my local Gunshops and found a new Maverick for $249.00 and a used Remington for $200.00. Any thought's on entertaining these deals?

Last week Turner's had the Maverick for $199 and a more basic version of the Hawk 982 the NEF pardner pump protector for $169. I had to put money now on the pardner already owning a Hawk and knowing its value.

I have the same 870 clone from there. No issues with the weapon almost all but the barrels fit it. Good price for the weapon no worries.

Buy the Mossberg 500. the 870's are great but I wouldn't go as cheap as the hawks. there are lots of internal plastics on it that break.

Internal plastics? like what? lol. I fondled this gun a few times too a long while ago, I felt at the time I was cheating on my bf a little ;P

i'd get the used remington 870 aslong as its an express and can shoot 3" shells.

you have to figure the hawk is $200 brand new and the 870 $200 used an 870 express is about $325 new? so the 870 is better and you know what you are getting.

they were just on sale 12 days ago for $199.. i picked mine up on wednesday. If you find a store with one ask to talk to the manager and see if he will give it to your for the sale price of $199. Usually they will honor the last sale price if you ask politely.

Big5 is real good at matching their last sale price. I bought my 982 a few years ago in July, the last time it was on sale for $199 was the previous Thanksgiving, not only did they match that price, they also transferred one to my local B5 since there no store in my area had them in stock. Great customer service, and so far a great shotgun and a great value. Greatness all around. Ain't that great?

It has the ghost rings. Theyre not on sale anymore, but I was talking to the employee and he ended up giving my the 2 week old sale price.

+1 When I bought mine it hadn't been on sale for a very long time. Manager actually called corporate and got permission to sell it to me at the sale price. He also thought they would never get any again.
