They're made in China, and imported by Century Arms International. That should give you some indication of their quality. Well that, and the fact that they're selling them at Big 5.

These look suspiciously like the Ultra87, which is another Chinese-made CAI import.

Ultra87's can be a bit rough but they clean up pretty nicely; not sure if the Interstate is the same way. It's possible that Remington got after 'em for using 87 in the name of the shotgun (because it's a clone of the 870 action), so they may have gone with another name.

Of course, it could be a whole different gun entirely; I don't know. I do know it looks kind of like the Ultra87 I have at home.

BTW, did anyone but me look at the thread title and think, "What, they already sold the Brooklyn Bridge and now it's all about the freeways?"

The Big 5 part I don't mind, I just mind about the china and century arms part.

Wait a min, I thought there was a ban on importing weapons from China?

These are Norinco 982 shotguns, imported by Interstate Arms Corp.

If I recall correctly, the "Clinton ban" only applied to semi-auto guns.

Max100 has posted quite a bit about these on Calguns and other sites.

                        Great shotgun

I purchased the Interstate 3 months ago and find the quality to be great, check it out before you knock it.

There was a bit of a flamefest last year over them:

I'm still tempted to get one just for giggles.

Do they make mag extensions for it? Do aftermarket 870 parts fit on this gun?

You got ripped off. I got my 500 combo for 260 something out the door a few years ago How much are there sks'? I checked with them a couple months ago and they wanted 400. You can get them for mid to low 300's in the marketplace here.
