A guy did this to us a few weeks ago.. was funny as hell. He had like a hipster muscle tank top on and slicked back hair shooting a mossberg 500 with a breacher and red dot. Kid you not, he was shooting those pink low recoil rounds. Talk about breaking your concentration.. hard to shoot when you're giggling uncontrollably

Heck, shoot a sporting clays tournament and you are looking at over $200 for just the main event (100 to 200 targets) while a trap tournament is less than that for 5 events (500 targets).
Think about it, five trap fields need five machines. Your average sporting clays course has twelve to fourteen stations, and each station needs two machines.

I get the math...I was just stating a fact sporting costs more than trap.

          So?

The machines are a minor factor. SC birds cost more. SC takes more real estate. If it was the machines, Bunker would be more expensive.

This reminds me of a running joke I've developed when I visit national parks. I'll be driving on (for example) Going to the Sun Road, going the speed limit, and even in an environment like that I'll get some ****head behind me aggressively tailgating until I get to the next turn out.

In a fake-screaming, hypertensive voice I'll say to the other people in my car, "GET OUT OF MY WAY! I'M TRYING TO ENJOY THE BEAUTY OF NATURE!"

FITASC is even more expensive than sporting clays.

You mean "more fun" than trap right? Trap is for heathens, cheapskates and the ignorant, right?. Why beat around the bush?

Relative costs till has little/nothing to do with the number of machines (which was your statement).

Not all trap shooters are hostile, old and grumpy. I will agree that is a definite, unfortunate, somewhat true stereotype.

What I have found interesting is that the nicest shooters I have ever met are the trap shooters in Oregon and Washington. Not only are they friendly, they open their homes and welcome everyone to their shoots. There is a reason why twice annually my buddies and I travel north to shoot in Oregon. For some reason, CA shooters are a lot less friendly and less socially interactive.

Really? I've made friends all over the state due to trapshooting. I was scoring for another league today and got pulled in to sub, as I was the only scorer who also shoots. I had a ball, but then, I shoot with new people all the time. The grumpy people are out there, but they are by far the minority. I'm quite friendly with many of my competitors for the state women's team.

Used to shoot at San Diego Shotgun Sports (Miramar) & Target Tossers, can't recall grouchy shooters. I was much younger then shot mostly skeet but did shoot trap, sporting clays and 5 stand when they had it set up.
Going to start trap again at SBRC just because it's there and is easy for me to get to. They shoot 2nd & 4th Wednesday.

I was in the first position, he was in the second, geezers were in three, four, and five.

Out of the blue the geezer in three asks my buddy, and I quote, "how would you like it if hit you with a rock"?

                              It went downhill from there

                              The dogma gets tiresome.

                              On occassion.

Mostly skeet. I can shoot it in the weekday evening....which was the goal of the OP.
