I never had any issues finding 22lr online. I never buy at local stores because they are twice the price. I was able to order around 8k worth of rounds last year. No excuses they are out there, I constantly see 525 rounds for around $40-45, no I'm not going to link anything here, it's not hard to search online and find them. I used to spend 80-90 a month to score 1k a month. I did this for several months last year, it was very easy to order two 525 cases and as I am looking right now I have found 5 sources with these deals. I'm not rich and 80-90 a month is not a lot to spend for several months.

I'm good with 22lr for a couple of years at least until prices go down? I don't know I don't have a problem with current prices to be honest.

that should of been everybodies attitude at the beginning. the flippers weren't doing anyone a favor. the tax man should of kept tabs of the people selling online or putting ads in the newspaper... then come a knock knock - wheres our share ?
if they could do it to fps russia why not flippers?

At the very pinnacle of the panic, I could get high quality .22 LR for 0.14 per round shipped.

More recently I can get quality subsonic for 0.09 per round shipped. Got another case, don't need more for a couple years or so.

Never waited in line. Never had to "know a guy." Punched up the order, and a little white van showed up a few days later.

Now, it's true that I used to get the same .22 LR for 0.03 per round, and I'm old enough to remember bricks of bulk for under $5. It's quite a bit more expensive than it used to be, that's true.

It is in fact sufficiently expensive now that it changes the cost-benefit relationship with other calibers. 9mm is now about twice as expensive, where it used to be three to five times as expensive... half-decent 5.56 is about triple...

... but .22 LR didn't become so popular only because it was cheap. It doesn't do everything by a long shot, but there are several things that it does very, very well.

Now that it's spendier I tend to shoot my bolt .22 LR more than the autoloader. But it's not the end of the world.

In the Great Depression, my grandfather, more than once, was handed a single round -- more often than not, a .22 LR -- and expected to bring home something for the table. If not, well, them shoes start looking mighty tasty...

So anyway, I wish the ammo was cheaper too. I also wish I could get ribeye steaks for a buck each. Again, it isn't the end of the world.

Have 6 bricks of various ammo coming from Cabelas...all at closed to prepanic prices...with free shipping just got 4 bricks from Gander Mtn.

Just keep an eye on the online deals, not too hard and the prices are in the 6 cent range...or less...

I have two boxes of Federal Auto Match waiting for me to pick up at Bass Pro and 1000 rounds of CCI Minimag on order at Brownell's. Paid 6 cents/rd for the Auto Match and 7 cents/rd for the Minimags. I put another 10,000+ rds in the safe this year, all for roughly the same price and never paying more than 8 cents/rd. Yeah its more than pre-panic prices but its still inexpensive. Those of you complaining, if you spent your time looking instead of whining you'd have plenty in your stash.

Haven't paid a dime to any of these hoarders since this whole thing started. I already had a measly 300 rounds stashed a way. Believe it or not, I've only shot 150 rounds from that 300, over the span of 2 years. Fortunately I've had better luck finding .22 lately.

After about 100 rounds shooting 9mm's, I like to tone is down with about 30 rounds on my M&P22. My stash of about 2.8K should hold me off for a way. I still keep a close eye for deals but will not jump on anything less than .06 a round...

Its coming back on Walmart shelves...

Just picked up three Winchester 555 boxes at the Pleasant Grove, Roseville Walmart on my way to work at 9am. Three boxes for 89.91 which is 5.5 cents per round after tax.

They had a big shipment in and the cashier there said there was only one person waiting for it. They had both 555 and 333 boxes and they were stacked deep even after I left.

I'm just getting back into 22, now that my boy is old enough. Thankfully, probably 4-5 years back, I was working a gun show that was blowing out cases (not bricks, cases) of federal 22 for $120/case. I picked up a few on a whim. Should carry my boy all the way to centerfire.
