My backorder for a 1400 round bucket of Remington 22 was cancelled on 12/2/14. Email said they would not be in stock for another 12 months. Then I saw this post that Dick's Sporting goods got some buckets in on 12/5/14.

I'm contacting Midway on Monday and closing my account. Never going to do business again.

you might want them to give them a chance to correct it before going off half cocked. i know i may have done that with bass pro declining to ship me 22lr on cyber monday.. ended up getting a 3rd call by a rep and 3 boxes which was more than the allowed amount to buy.

I'll give them a chance to rectify. However, I'll bet a buck that they can no longer sell at the original cost of backorder and do not want to eat the cost. The fact that Dicks just got in the same product (bucket of 1400 Remington) that I had backordered and that Midway said was no longer available is total BS.

Cancelled my buckets too. I know they've been selling them throughout the year.

They'll get stock. They just don't want to sell it for our backorder price. Eff em.

There's nothing special about Midway anyhow. I'll shop elsewhere.

Screw the customers, it is all about the "new normal" price for .22. They have every right to run their business that way and I have every right to never buy from them again. Just like CTD we ned to make a clear statement with our $, I have also stopped shopping at Palmetto since they will not ship handguns here.

I've avoided Midway for almost a year now after I ordered some powder and maybe a week later got the "uh, never mind, we can't get it after all" email. The whole way they handled it was pretty cheesy.

I have a slightly older Mini Mag backorder. I assume it will get cancelled in a couple of weeks and it's not going to help my opinion of them any. It's one thing to say, oh, they should have limits but if they didn't want to have cases open for backorder they shouldn't have listed them for backorder, duh. And then when they apparently got orders for thousands of cases they just left it open until that number got even more out of hand without making it clear that there was no way they'd be getting 30,000 cases or whatever it finally was before they pulled the plug. The whole process - the way they run their business - was amateurish and this is just the latest.

I too have a BO dating back to 1/8/14 and have no expectations of seeing any part of the 22lr. . Just as an FYI, here's their latest statement about case purchases:
                "Bulk Products not for Sale"
                ....so there you go!?

I emailed both the customer service department and good old Larry... neither had the time to reply. He is probably busy writing another story of an African hunt or something.
That they screwed up allowing the back orders is one thing, how they dealt with it is another. All businesses will make mistakes, but to sell the same product that they had on back order piecemeal was what ticked me off, along with not making the attempt to see if those of us with back orders would accept substitutions with the product they have been receiving.

When was the last time a company cancelled an ammo order for 5.56 or .223?

Midway has done it's best to make sure people can get some 22LR ammo from time to time. The manufacturers cannot supply the ammo and Midway was forced to cancel backorders. I'm sure they are as unhappy about it as you guys are. They make no money if they can't sell products. In this case it's the suppliers that were not able to keep up with demand and that puts the retailers in a bad spot.

The thing with Midway is they have been getting the ammo people had backordered and instead of filling backorders they listed it on their web site for sale limit 1 and $20 shipping to make more money.

Also Midway could have at least kept 2-3 bricks on backorder for the people who got their cases cancelled, so they at least got something.

Without a doubt Midway has lost hundreds if not thousands of customers due to their handling of the .22 lr backorders.

                              Sounds a lot like whining.

My order just got culled. Too bad - I thought I might have escaped the culling.
