I have picked up Thunderbolts, Golden Bullets, and Federal bulk for $.05 a round at Sportsmans Warehouse for a year now. Even got a box of thunder bolts today. I will pay $.08 a round for CCI Mini-mags when they have them. I also got 3 boxes of Yellow Jacket HP today at $.10 a round. I've never shot them before so I don't know if they are going to be worth it.

CCI minimags at $.08 or slightly less or they stay on the shelf for another sucker.

Bulk Box plinking crap stays on the shelf for somebody else.

But I buy my rimfire ammo 15K or 20K rounds at a time to avoid these drama cycles. I have enough to get past this Administration and part way thru the next one too.

Mostbof the online retailers have instituted price increases also during the last 3 weeks to a month. Manufacturers such as CCI and Winchester/Olin have also repackaged offerings into smaller qtys. Those who expect things to return to "normal" are deluding themselves.
Ice cream will never be sold in half gallons again, gas will never be back down below $3/gallon again, and ammo will never get cheaper. If you were to make an historical price graph, there might be some peaks and valleys, but the graph would inevitably show a rise in price over the years. Match .22 has probably seen the least rise in price percentage-wise in the last three years. Keep in mind I am speaking of mainline retailers both online and brick and mortar. Not places like PSA or CTD or some of the rediculous prices on gunbroker or gun shows.

Yep ten cents a shot is what I'm budgeting for when I'm purchasing.

I can get a brick of Blazer for fifteen cents a shot, but so far I'm resisting.

I have only ever paid $.05 for Blazer. Very dirty round.

Long ago you could purchase primed 22LR rimfire brass and load your own.

It will be that way for as long as the imbeciles who hoard ammunition continue to screw up the market.

I remember about a year ago buying three 100 round boxes of 22 short for about $5 each. It was all that wally world had at the time. Sure glad I made weird purchases like that. (Yes I have a 22 bolt)

Over a year ago I placed an order from Sportsman Guide for 10K rounds of 22lr for around $500. I was so happy and told several family members I would give them some ammo. However, they kept extending and extending the backorder. They sent me an email a few months ago say they are cancelling my order after waiting a whole year because they can't fill it. BS I think they just kept selling it at higher prices to others. They sent me a 40% off a purchase over $50. bastards.

I have never paid more than around 4.5 cents a round. That is what it costs at Walmart..10 cents a round and more is because you buy it from flippers and crooks. The Manufacturers have not really increased .22 ammo prices much at all. Just bought three 550 Federal packs in the last two weeks for 23.97 each. That is normal price.

Manufacturer's haven't increased the price... distributors have. Shops still have to make a buck.

It's like shooting a Garand. Every trigger pull is a dollar flying down the range.

I just paid .11 cents a round for some Norma Tactical.

This is the most I've paid for .22LR. Though I've read some real good reviews on this ammo; many of which are calling it "near" match grade ammo.

Seeing as true match grade ammo can run .20 cents or more a round I was happy to pay .11 cents.

On the other hand. I did some pretty good online shopping the last 6-7 months and I was able to get about 15,000 rounds. Most of which I was able to get for less than .06 cents a round. And, I think the most I paid was .07 cents a round.

I also have a back order still out there for a case of ammo and its landed cost should be about .047 cents a round.

I'm good on .22LR so I too am out of the demand part of the game.
                                Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.
