    Sold My .22's ....

and I couldn't be happier! Sort of. I'm tired of looking for ammo and refuse to pay the ridiculous asking prices people want for it. I also hate finding it online only to get a "OOS" when I'm ready to check out. BS. I know I could've held on to them and waited for the mayhem to be over but why just have them sit when I could sell them and buy ammo that I can actually find and shoot without being ripped off? Plus, I can always buy a .22 when, or if, the ammo situation gets back to normal. I will now shoot 9mm & 40s&w which is always available every time I look for it at decent prices. I feel bad for those of you who own .22's and cant shoot them right now. Good luck.

With the current focus on gun control are you sure you're going to be able to buy another firearm or ammo?

Experience is a great teacher and I've been through a few shortages...

cool. gun grabbers win another battle. create the panic, people get fed up, sell their guns. easy win for them. when 9mm gets harder to find and more expensive to shoot, give me a buzz and i'll buy your handguns.
          I don't own any guns...they're dangerous.

that was dumb to sell all your .22s
yes ammo is hard to find and will probably never be as good as they were but eventually this will pass and .22 will be more plentiful
selling off your .22's is just stupid

I may even look into a nice airgun or crossbow. We're headed that way by the looks of things. At least here in California.

so you sold a caliber that you can get 500rds for around 30 bucks?

They may have won another, as you say, but none of this would have been possible without the hoarders! Best friends an anti ever had!

Selling guns is always a bad choice in my opinion however most of this is a result of perception rather than reality. So as long as there's players, there will be a scarcity game.
If this is based on the perception of a gun grab then as somebody already appropriately stated...it's the new reality..........unless of course you think there's a huge number of gun friendly folks about to assume office throughout this land and rescue us all.

A new generation of young shooters is in the process of becoming a vanishing breed.

Antis and hoarders = a marriage made in hell!

How do you figure? He sold his guns, not destroyed them. Now somebody else has more guns.

I do agree with others though, no reason to sell all your 22s just because ammo is difficult. If you have internet access there is enough out there that you can get enough to shoot if you stay a little crafty about it. To each his own though.

I'm wondering if the guns were eating too much or if they were gonna go bad...

Can't say that I blame you. For some people, it just isn't worth the effort to hunt down and find .22lr at _reasonable_ prices.

On the positive side of things, at least other calibers aren't so difficult to find - yet.

Tell us exactly how many and what type you sold. It sounds like you sold out of frustration or spite. Unless you had to get rid of them for some other reason, why sell a valuable and useful firearm (in a useful caliber) that will only continue to go up in value?
