Not only has Marlin been making the 60 longer. They have sold about three times the number of them than Ruger has the 10-22

Everybody I knew in high school had a 10/22, and the smallest magazines we ever used were 25 rounders. We all had multiple 50s.

Might make up for production disparity.

Hard to argue with 11 million, but the claim that my statement is the stupidest regarding firearms deserves a Darwin Award itself.

You need to shoot it more. Most that I've seen get better once broken in.

Ummm... no. It's not a Kimber. 10/22 should run right out of the box. If it doesn't there is something wrong.

That gun should run decent with nearly any ammo, from the box. I said "decent" not perfect. Obviously with some ammo it will need the action cleaned a lot quicker. I'll agree "some ammo" may not function very well, but overall, It should shoot most.

examine internals. A friend of mine just bought a brand new 10/22 and it was defective from the factory. Had to send it back... I'll give updates when I learn if they fixed it or end up giving her a new one.

i have 3 10/22 rifles in differect configs one being 55k plus rounds through without issues, and the rifle every time i pull it out of the stock to clean it the buffer pin and trigger housing retaining pins fall out that's how used it is! I will prob say bad apple you got. warranty.

Yes the Marlins are more accurate out of the box. But every time you try to get that through a 10 22 kool aid drinkers head, they get all mad and defensive.. I just tell them to do the research and they will find it is the Truth...

If you have both Firearms as I do. You will know which is more accurate..

People spend alot of Money on 10 22s just to make them as accurate as a stock Marlin. And they get really mad about that

I have both. The Marlin more times than not is OOTB more accurate, especially if you tweak the torque on the stock screw for it's "G" (good) spot.
The 10/22 is just a whole lot more expandable and fun!

I have both. My result have been the opposite. The 10/22 is more accurate, especially if the barrel band is tight, but it's an older one with metal band, so if you have one with plastic band and it doesn't shoot good try a metal band.

Also they may shoot better with no barrel band at all. A friend has the deluxe walnut stock sporter no barrel band and it would out shoot my Marlin 60 too, but my Marlin is only one of millions.

The receivers are not polymer. Most of the trigger group is though.

I would wager that more .22 has been sent down range out of 10/22s than any other firearm.

Not saying you might not have received a lemon, but they've been selling the same rifle for just shy of 50 years. It works.

I have several recent-year build 10/22s and all of them shoot with about 100% reliability with pretty much any non-subsonic .22LR I have tried. This includes cheap Centurion ammo, Remington Goldens, and Federal Blue Box 525. I have not had any issues at all. Not sure why the OP was having difficulty; I did not catch what ammo he was shooting. Not subsonics, I hope.

The only thing my 10/22 wouldn't feed and fire are Western Hollow points, the bullet is too tall and catches on the chamber. Actually that is the same issue with all my semi autos I've tried it in. So the Western Hollow Points are relegated to the revolvers only.
