The scotch bright blue pads are for your Teflon pans.

But I'd use the green ones for the receiver.

I wonder if this is a newer issue? Ive got a 10/22 circa 1983 that runs flawless. I do have the VQ extractor, trigger kit, buffer and other mods on it though..

OP, I'd look carefully at the edge of your extractor. If its rounded off, and it prolly is, replace it with a Volquartsen or KIDD plus the spring, it's cheap & easy. I take my mags apart & detail all metal edges with 0000 stainless steel wool. They only assemble one way, preload the sideplate 8 turns & re-assemble. This should handle feeding & ejection...Once you get it working right, you'll be cleaning the action more than the barrel. In SD & need help, PM me.

EDIT;above about the "action" receiver/bolt/rod is true. Sticky charging handles=usually the crimp on rod, rough area in the opening under the bolt handle etc. My 10/22 will shoot subs down to 1020 easily & cycle well. Most of them wont, it's all about the smooth action.

Thanks guy's. I did a detailed tear down and cleaned everything. Lubed and going to try anything but bulk winchester. Ill try cci or remington.
If it still fails I will replace the extractor then go from there.

            Thank You

My buddy had ton of problems with bulk Winchester, everything else cycled flawlessly. Once he installed Valquartsen extractor, he had zero problems with bulk Winchester.

...and don't let ammo haters fool you.
Rem thunderbolt gets a bad review from a lot of people.
Its certainly more dirty shooting than most others, but ive found it to be more accurate than some of the more "premium" brands. Try different rounds to see what your rifle likes.

Just shot 100 rounds with my brand new 10/22 with the 10 round rotary magazine. No jams, it ran flawlessly. All I did was clean and lubed it before I used it.

Anyone out there have the same problem with this rifle ?

Wondering if I should have gone with a non rotary mag gun...
The Ruger 10/22 is the best semiauto rimfire on the planet, period. However, they don't like certain kinds of ammo. My original 10/22, circa 1975, has run over 50,000 rounds with no issues, other than ammo. First thing with a rimfire is to buy a box of everything out there, and see what it likes. My brand new 10/22, made September 2013, ran 80 rounds today with a hickup, Federal plate 38grains. New one on top, 1975 on the bottom

My TD was jammin on Fed Automatch. Was shooting flawless all year until the last outing. So just completely stripped the bolt to clean it out and found my extractor might have rounded out slightly on one corner edge. See if a new one helps.

Looks like the tapco intrafuse w/ the straight tube installed for factory barrel

They also make a Bull barrel one:

What's with all of the hype over the Marlin 60? It only has a 10 round mag, right? Pass on that.
