I never hoarded 22lr but it is nice to have a few bricks always on hand since it cheap, easy to shoot and be used in many different rifles and pistols. This crazy has forced me get use of a few boxes of Remington 22lr that I would always avoid before due to it being so ****ty.

See, I told you 50,000 was enough

I'm not hoarding. I just bought 5000 rounds and I'm only keeping 1500. The rest is going to friends and family.

        Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

I have to admit I comfortably do this as well, especially for friends just getting into it. Think they get spoiled how easy they get their first boxes of 22

Ive paid 3 to 4X price to watch the 49ers beat the Packers in the playoffs last year. Not saying you should, just depends how much u want it. Having alternative calibers is always great, reason why i dont consolidate. I just find it interesting when people expect you to sell 22 at cost, dude i got a bunch of friends i could sell to at cost easy if need be. The expectation that people should give it to you for what you paid for it, just aint gonna happen unless supply changes

Look at it more from "What will it cost to replace it?"

Sure, I've got bricks that cost $20 but the only semi reliable source I have right now is $35 a brick (last I looked)

Am I gonna sell 'em for $20/brick? Don't think so.

I didn't realize until I started reorganizing my garage that I have about 8.5K of .22 ammo. During the 'panic' I jumped on the Cabelas and Midway deals as fast as I could. I think I bought 1 or 2 bricks via private party from CG'ers at somewhat inflated prices, but hey, that's capitalism. It is always nice to open an ammo can and find 4 bricks of the CCI AR rimfire ammo that you forgot all about.

                    I'm down to <10,000 rounds.... I haven't found/been able to buy 1 round in 1.5 years.

completely true, purchase price and ability to repurchase are two different things entirely.

Kind of like conservatives using the term liberal as a slur, and liberals using the term conservative as a slur. Just meaningless nonsense that indicates one group's distaste for the other.

I will continue to keep many thousands of rounds on hand. Call me whatever you like, but I cannot hear you over the crack of my well-fed rifles! haha.

Yeah, my cousin was holding off on getting a 22 because he couldn't get ammo.

                          He has 2 now

Because we keep up with the news? Foresight? Planning? Looks better on our shelves than the empty shelves of you LGS? Buy in layers? Family & friends learning to shoot? When you need it you have it?
