Got two of them, great scopes.I just ordered this Nikon ProStaff earlier today for my 10/22 sitting in lockup right now.
With the 10% off code, it was $98 shipped to my door. I was going to pull the trigger on a Simmons, but after reading so many opinions/reviews online, I think spending the extra $40 will be worth it.sigpic Rifleman Jan 31 2010

Yup thats the one.My Simmons scope arrived today, so the general consensus is the rings that comes with it are crap and it would be better to get a scope mount? Is this the one most of you are using on a 795?

And that exact linked one seems to be the correct one for your scope, 1 inch tube and "Fits Scopes upto 45mm Obj". I don't think they make a lower mount then the "medium".
I run the High with my 50mm Obj scope and IMO the scope clearance is pretty good. (Not too excessive)Comment

Do you guys use bipod or a stand to shoot Marlin with scope? Adding scope to it made it noticeably heavy and not very comfortable shooting it standing.

Go with a higher magnification if you want to shoot beyond 100 yards. My eyesight isn't as good as it used to be, and my Weaver RV7 suits me fine for targets up to 50 yards. However, if I shoot further than that, I find that I can no longer see my hits through the scope. I need to refer to my binoculars or a buddy's spotting scope in order to see where my hits have landed after the fact. It's very annoying not to be able to adjust for POI while shooting from the bench, and it's for this reason that I'm saving up for a scope with higher magnification (perhaps a 24x or 36x).
That being said, if you want to stay under your $100 budget, you may want to check out the Tasco 6-24x42 (Mil-Dot reticle) or the Tasco 6-24x40 (30/30 reticle) Target/Varmint Riflescopes. Both have Adjustable Objectives are Optic Planet Best Rated Products. Both widely available for under $90 shipped.
If you decide to go with either of these, let us know how you like them!Last edited by skyblue; 01-17-2014, 10:20 AM.Comment

Best scope is the crossman $8 pellet gun scope from walmart unless you can't see or shoot like most of the guys posting on here. have this on my daughters 795 she takes bottle caps off the 20oz coke bottles at 50yards with this scope. Go to walmart and check out a few or look at walmart onlineLast edited by mtn1977; 01-17-2014, 4:52 PM.Comment

Need help with Simmons 3-9X 32mm with AO. I am newbie don't know much about scopes.
1. When I adjust the eye piece to make the reticle sharp the image blurs, so I cannot have a sharp reticle and image.
2. Image quality for magnification over 4X seems not very clear even after adjusting AO.
3. Scope doesn't focus on object closer, like say 4ft. Is there a minimum distance that the target has to be to use the scope?
is this normal?
thanksLast edited by Raptor3000; 01-19-2014, 9:22 AM.Comment

1. I leave my eyepiece adjustment alone, but then again I don't wear glasses.
2. Don't have that exact scope so I don't know.
3. Most scopes won't focus under 5 yards. (Each scope is different, too) If you try to then generally you can get a clear image or a clear crosshair but you will not be able to get both. When you have it focused the crosshair will disappear and vice versa.
I would say that you are trying to test it way closer than you should be.
You are using both the eyepiece tuning and the AO together right?
Find a place in your house with a longer distance to test it.Comment

Hi Chaos47, You are right I checked at longer distance in the back yard and image quality is good, at longer distance both reticle and Image are sharp.1. I leave my eyepiece adjustment alone, but then again I don't wear glasses.

Any one know what should be the minimum distance for Simmons 3-9X 32mm with AO to focus properly?
thank you very much for your help.Last edited by Raptor3000; 01-19-2014, 1:31 PM.Comment
