    Scope for marlin 795

    Hi,

I just purchased my second Marlin 795 and would like to put a scope on it, my first one has tech sights.

Please recommend me some good scopes for 795.

    thanks

Pursuit 3-9x32 tactical rimfire. Beastly for the money.

This ^^^^. Price range can be from $20 to $300 for a 22LR. Mag can be from
4x to +24x. Just depends on what you want to do and how much you want to spend. Does the 795 need a rail or other mounting? That has to be figured in also. Provide a little more info, and you will get some good "experienced" recommendations.

These get pretty good reviews: http://www.natchezss.com/product.cfm...O&src=exrbSrch

Upper magnification limit of 18X is good for 100yds while the lower limit of 6x is good for 25yds. Do some reserach on this scope before purchasing to see what others like/dislike about it. I don't own one so no personal experience with it. At your price point you are locked into a Chinese made scope so that has its own risk, some bad some excellent. Kind of the luck of the draw.

If you can up your budget a little the Mueller APV is an excellent Chinese made scope with a great warranty and super customer service. You may even be able to find one of those in the Market Place on rimfirecentral at the upper limit of your current budget. If you do make sure the seller has the original sales receipt as the scope warranty is transferable if you have the original receipt. Go to Mueller Optics for the specs on the scope, 4.5-14X as I remember. I have owned one and was very happy with it. Only sold it because I got into benchrest shooting and the APV was not suited for that.

Another consideration is a quality red dot sight thats in your price range. The Bushnell TRS-25 is and excellent one for the $$$ @ $85+shipping. Its a 3MOA dot. I have owned a BSA, Leapers and TRUGLO and the Bushnell is much, much better by far than any of those. I have the Bushnell that does duty on a S&W 22a pistol and on a Remington 597. Works great on both firearms. You will need a dovetail to pictany rail to use it on a 795.

The 795 and its cousin, the Marlin 60 are known for having issues with scopes walking on the dovetail. Might consider a Leapers Pictany to Dovetail mount for mounting the scope. The Leapers mount has 3-4 mounting screws which holds very good to the rail on the Marlins.

First of all, get the UTG (yeah whatever) one-piece scope mount for dovetails otherwise your scope will just walk right off (happened to me). Clamp that thing as much as you can and add Loctite.

                I got a Simmons 10x scope and it's great.

Optics planet has 10% off + free shipping. It practically covers the cost of rings

Under a 100 is a little tough. But I will second the Redfield Revolution line. And also add the Nikon Prostaff line..Both however are over 100.00

I got the Simmons 3-9 scope for my 795 and love it. It comes with a set of rings that mounts perfectly to the 795 rail. Thinking of getting another one for my Model 60. Its currently selling for $48 but I bought mine for $30 at the beginning of Nov.

There are no stupid questions...just stupid people asking questions.
