OP is about the Winchester M-22. It comes in a double 500 box. Some say it sux, some say it doesn't. Not uncommon with .22.

My Henry likes the M-22 but then it likes everything.

I have a few cases of the M-22, I ran a couple hundred through the semi and bolt guns I have, a few FTF but didn't think much about it. Thanks OP, I need to keep an eye on this, and always, buy more lever guns

It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

I got a 1000 round box and only shot a couple hundred so far. Wasn't impressed with the accuracy, but didn't have any feeding problems.

If this .22 shortage ever ends, I'll stock up on nothing but Federal and leave all these random rounds (M22, Golden Bullets, and Thunderbolts) for my kids to shoot!

OP, do you still have the box to check the lot number and post it for us? Curious if it is the same lot that most of us received from Cabelas recently . Thanks

I think I might be interested in that random M22..

Went to the range today & ran some rounds through my 20" All Weather 10/22. It's the same as last time except now it has a Volquartzen hammer in it. Same 2X TruGlow red dot. The barrel floats & I've ditched the barrel band.

My rest was a stool and a sandbag laying on the barrier table. Not the steadiest. I'm sure that the rifle & ammos would do better with a solid rest and a proper target type scope.

I was having trouble seeing my little Sharpie dots (aiming point) so I decided to stick on a big plaster. On the last target the pasters & tape are covering some .45 holes. Wasn't really my day for the handguns.

The Federal did way better than it did last time around.

Like I said. I may just take some of that random M22 of yer hands.

Kind of unscientific. $200 rifle with (IIRC) a red dot I got for $60 on a Black Friday. For bulk ammo I think it's OK.

I'm about 300-ish into the brick of M22 & haven't had a dud yet. I did get one stovepipe in the MKII Ruger.

M-22 was one of my favorite rounds. "WAS" being the operative word.

This latest box of 1000 shows poor quality control by Winchester.
                    Bent bullets
                    Loose bullets.
                    Dented brass.
Many "fail-to-fires" even after multiple strikes.

I'm disappointed but hopeful that QC gets better with time.

Where'd it come from? The stuff I have came from Big 5. I looked in another brick & it looks OK. Got 2K on backorder from Midway though.

3 or 4 ftf out of a hundred isn't a "good box" lol

Fishslayer, my box came from Midway the last time it was in-stock.

Rhut roh. From a couple of different posts I've seen it would seem a pallet of ammo got left out in the rain or maybe those rumors about different batches going different places are true. Remember the "WalMart WWB .45ACP is different from other WWB .45ACP?"

I opened up a different box from Big 5 & those look fine, too, and it's a different lot #.

I'm most of the way through the first brick & so far zero duds & good performance. Next time I go to the range I'll open up that other lot# & see how that does.
