I haven't had a problem with the plastic forward assist device in my CMMG .22 upper. I've got a lot of rounds through it and no issues, the forward assist works fine when needed.Comment

Ah just got my buffer plug! Cant wait for my wasp vs 10/22 range trip tomorrow evening at on target! I think i might bring another stupid amount of ammo just so i can see any jam patterns if there are any. I want to see what ruger warranty can put up against the stock upper. We already know there is a plus one for bolt hold open, and another for being able to drop the bolt on the next mag, but we will see what difference there is.Comment

The normal CMMG dedicated uppers do not have a working forward assist. Its usually an extra option on the CMMG website. Its an option that also comes with a stainless bolt/bolt collar and forward assist for $30 - a good pkg upgrade.
The CMMG 22LR upper was my favorite AR gun to shoot. Just feed it with roundnose 40gr HVs and it'll be ultra reliable...Comment

Here is my 10/22 in the case next to my cmmg .22 set up. We were going to head off to the range for their shoot off, but when I got there there were police everywhere and the staff said they were closed for the day...oh well
