I think im going to do the same, and just run the buffer plug. Seems like its running great for you without the taccom parts.

Thats what i wanted to hear!

Not a good idea, that's pushing it. If your using a CMMG drop in .22 conversion bolt keep your bullet button in.

Im leaving the bullit button in place, and going to use the magnet thingy when the 22 upper is on.

i just ordered the plug, and was looking at the other parts. The spring should be the next easiest part to replace as you only need to remove the barrel collar, and slide the bolt off the carrier to remove the original spring. The firing pin can be replaced by removing the cotter pin, you should be able to see the loop where you pull it out on the left side of the bolt. It looks like there is is a punch pin that holds the extractor in, and I bet you could push it in and out with a paper clip..yep you can. I think that should be all there is to it. used my hands, and a paper clip to disassemble mine as I was typing. should be gtg

Yeah try it. Just remember its metal so as long as you aren't grinding any thing it can always be put back together by someone lol

Reason i ask is i received all the Taccom parts today and i dont know how to install all that stuff! Dont even have the tools to do it.
Of coarse i could install the buffer plug, but not all that other stuff.
If you are having zero problems shooting it the way it came (your dedicated CMMG upper) i think im going to run mine that way.

                    Thoughts?
I picked up the Taccom kit myself as a backup. I haven't had any issues with the upper yet, so they're sitting in the grip.

If you ever break and firing pin or extractor, you can swap them out at that time.

I like the way you think!

Are you also using the better-mag adapter...or just the Black dog mags?

Has anyone heard anything good or bad in regards to the forward assist? I read somewhere that they tend to come loose and cause jams.

I also read that the forward assist piece is made of plastic and cracks after not much use.

When the forward assist was first made, it had a pin which fit it to the back of the bolt. Stayed in place.
To cut cost, CMMG did away with the pin.
Now the plastic block is loose and moves around which can cause cycling problems.
I always added it as an option in case I ever wanted to use the upper receiver as a 5.56, I would already have the FA installed. Cheaper to add it than installing the FA yourself.
I just take the plastic block off the .22 bcg.

I really don't think the FA is necessary on an AR22. I never used it when I had my.
