Cabelas ammo hording?

I have a few shops in my area that I stop in to socialize, support and check ammo supply with. No such luck for myself. I have bought from them in the last 3-4 months even when prices were high but to tell you the truth small gun store owners like to make their shops feel like a private club. I like to think of myself as a sociable, friendly guy but when given a "humph" after asking if any .22 is available like I'm taking away from your day chatting up the retired veteran (no disrespect intended)I tend to learn my place and understand my welcome when its not welcome. Make me feel like a outsider when I have hard earned cash to spend at your shop and I tend to frequent less.

I hear you about the atmosphere at some of the local places. Luckily there are also a bunch of all around friendly places too - to which I do also support.

Gander Mountain Online is really one of the overall better values per round when its all said and done. Just gotta keep those fingers crossed that the timing works when they release the .22 ammo. More and more folks are catching on, so the quicker it goes OOS. All the awesome contributors to the ammo find forum have helped out with my stock levels quite a bit.

The single box limits at Cabelas is not bad at all when they throw out free shipping promos tied to their club visa card.

I bought some cci stingers at walmart on thursday. about 7 dollars per 50 after tax.

We don't have a Cabelas near us but last month I was in a Cabelas in Minnesota and saw ever caliber of ammo, except .22LR. Checked out numerous other retailers while there and same thing. The prices for ammo were about the same as we paid here in Cali before the last election.
