The 22 lr ammo reselling racket

I haven't had 22lr ammo so far this year except for a single brick which a goodhearted CGer sold me at cost. Walmart is always empty, and all online deals posted here go OOS within an hour. When 22lr ammo eventually becomes readily available, the new price point might be as much as a dime a around.

So, I'm seriously considering selling off all my 22lr firearms to fund a 5.45 saiga purchase. Milsurp 5.45 is just 17 cents shipped, cheaper than current 22lr "racket" price and hair higher than the likely "new normal" price.

Apparently you missed the .90-1.00/rd ball ammo prices esrlier this year....

What could possibly be wrong with price-gouging middlemen profiting off the fruits of others' labor while adding zero value or giving a second thought to your fellow CGers... If you need to have that explained to you you probably wouldn't care/understand anyway....

Just like when people were complaining about the high cost of gas a few years ago and blaming OPEC for making huge profits. The Arabs made a statement that they hadn't raised the PPB at all and it was the middlemen and speculators who were reaping the benefits. Of course soon after OPEC raised prices to get a bigger cut of the pie.

Just like ammo makers will probably do after witnessing what people are willing to pay for their products.

there's plenty on Cabelas, and by the way we've been through this before, whoever wants to sell it is their choice to set the price, you don't have to buy from them, go online and search

Its been almost two weeks of me searching for .22lr Mini Mags and I still cant find them anywhere unless I want to pay .20 a round plus shipping! I should have bought a .17hmr instead of a .22!

You're being picky...Have you tried any other ammo. If it doesn't work, you could always resell below cost. or donate to the boy scouts or 4h

oh yea I forgot to mention, most stores open about 7, 8 or 9, long before my classes start. I haven't been standing in line in a few months but when I did, the prices were good, and the butts were hurt. should a seen the guys face who was waiting for his friend to arrive when the clerk said "screw it, you can have it all" and I bought all the 9mm.

The ammo is out there, but I doubt the prices will ever be low enough again to please everyone. They continue to reminisce about the good ol' days and blame others for their failure to adapt.

Prices won't go down to what they were. However retailers see what people are willing to pay through gougers and know people will pay higher prices and in turn raise their own prices.

There's a big difference between a retailer and a gouger, if you do not know what separates them there is no point in trying to explain it to you since you won't grasp the concept anyways.
