I'm sorry but isn't this thread bashing basic capitalism. Ever heard of the law of supply and demand, or speculating. How many of you nay sayers bought houses when you couldn't give 'em away in the late 90s, held on to them, and sold them for a huge profit when prices exploded in the early to mid 2000s.
I'm only smiling at you while you talk to me because it's hilarious that you really think I give a crap about you.

As I've gotten older I thought I was gaining patience, then I realized I simply don't give a crap.

You guys who believe this capitalism are ignorant.

These guys are running a cash-only racket while living on my dime. Who do you think has the time to line up at walmart to buy ammo...while most of us are working and paying taxes?

I flag every Craiglist posting for 22lr. These are people buying up all the ammo and trying to sell it for 2x - 4x more. My theory is that these are the fools driving up the prices at the stores and creating a shortage for the casual shooter. I have noticed that their prices have been falling and ammo can be found on the shelves. My one man war is working...

Please flag every seller on Craigslist selling a box of 22lr for a huge profit. If we can hinder their sales they will stop buying everything up. When I go to my Lgs or box store it's the same story. The same guys showing up and buying everything up on every shipment day. Nobody is shooting that much ammo. These guys are fouling things up for all of us...

          Flag these muthasuckas!

Unbridled survival of the fittest (wealthy) is not capitalism. This is why we specifically have regulations on price fixing, and controlling markets. That's not exactly what these folks buying up ammo are doing but it is far similar to that then it is to the capitalism of the founding fathers.

All things in balance. As shooters we cannot live by a code of "I got mine, screw everyone else." because that will destroy us, and it will cause the shooting sports in the USA and gun ownership to enter a long dark night.

Call it capitalism all you want, but it's not American, and it's not how we keep people shooting, and it's not how we spread the word. It's selfish and it will bring us to ruin.

                I agree.

BTW I just flagged all the new 22lr adds on CL. All have been removed.

I believe in try make a profit but I also thought this was a forum to help california gun owners who enjoy to shoot. My view and just choose to pass up the insane 22 ammo price. I'm trying to get my boys started. So I'll hunt down what I can when I can. Good luck to all.

Stop doing that. Your misguided attempt at 'helping' is actually hurting.

You've become one of the anti-gun zealots that scan and flag CL for gun related stuff because they hate guns.

You've just prevented some dad from buying ammo for his two kids that he can't find anywhere else. And those 2 kids might become avid shooters and maybe NRA members.

If you don't like the price, don't buy it. The market will eventually correct itself. You will NOT lower ammo prices or increase availability by flagging CL ads. You can't force demand. Simple as that.

...and no, I don't sell on CL in case you were wondering.

It cannot be inherited, nor can it ever be purchased.
You and no one alive can buy it for any price. It is impossible to rent and cannot be lent.

The 22 lr situation has improved a lot in the past few months and it is not too hard to score online you just need to be patient and check things out often.

Availability of 22 lr will only get better from here, as the market gets more and more saturated people are going to be buying less. I know I am, I am now passing up 22 lr ammo I would not have a couple months ago.

Keep picking up your brass and recycling. Every little bit helps.

Let's see: the newest .22LR ammo crisis is in about its 11th month now? A lot of .22 purchasing will taper off for the winter months. It might start a drive-down of the re-sellers that might last if we cross our fingers.

Interestingly, match rimfire is still available (usually) and at the pre-panic prices through the handfull of dealers that I use. Bulk grade has been constantly rising towards that level without pushing match-grade up very much. It makes me wonder if the manufacturers are going to set new price points for their mass-produced, commercial products when this all settles down?

Its been almost two weeks of me searching for .22lr Mini Mags and I still cant find them anywhere unless I want to pay .20 a round plus shipping! I should have bought a .17hmr instead of a .22!

Because you're 11 months too late into the game.
