The 22 lr ammo reselling racket

Just about all calibers are back and down to almost normal prices except for 22 lr. All the major retails get they supply but it gets bought up instantly by the same people.

My suggestion is to not buy 22 lr from a reseller or gun show as they are the same group of people.

I don't need 22 as I have plenty from way before the election but a lot of my friends can't get it even if they try the big retailers as the fess opera have the supply locked-up.

Eventually the resellers will run out of buyers but if we can collectively make that happen the sooner, then all the better for our friends can enjoy our sport.

    Thanks,

Which still puts you under what a lot of other places are selling ammo for, and you can buy more than just 1 batch of ammo at a time(cleaning supplies, targets, whatever) so the shipping cost isn't just for the ammo.

There has been a lot of 22 ammo popping up as of late. For example, the Cabelas cans. They have popped up at random times of the day/evening so everyone has a shot at getting them.

Yes that is an unfortunate point. $$$ for shipping such a small item (and the crappy packaging too).

But on the flip side, most of the time even with shipping, it's cheaper than the local gun show price. LGS are moot because it's been mostly dry.

Didn't think .22 ammo was still in short supply. Of course, I buy in bulk (5k at a time) online and keep what I buy.

Yeah, but I have bought over 4K in the last few weeks from Cabelas for less then .06 per round and that includes shipping.
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

Teach your kids to shoot, not just use ammo.

getting them into it first. just letting them plink away for now. once they are ready, we will go into the breathing, trigger pull, etc. but if i get too technical with them now, they might get tired of it. and then we wont have a family hobby.

700 rounds an hour is a lot though..(well, depending on how many kids you have it actually might not be much).

Not sure what you have them shooting at, or at what distances, but maybe try to get some fun targets and when they want to do better slowly build them up? I don't necessarily mean stuff like those targets that bounce around, or squirrel spinners or whatever, but if they're old enough to understand maybe something like a dartboard or card game target. If you get them to ask how to do better, and don't try to pound it into their skulls in 1 afternoon, you'll probably be able to keep their interest just fine.

indoor range. 30yards. paper punching for now. i have 2 girls, 7 and 11. its their reward for doing good in school the prior week. i let them go blow off as many rounds as the can in one hour. my oldest is ready for the cz now. it is (by my observation) the most accurate of the .22's i have. its time for her to start being an accurate shot.
