I think it should be shared privately. Soon as those groups figure out theres new auto carts and that they CANT get them there gona be on the phone pronto ratting us out. And if the complain enough you know what happens.

I posted the 24.99/50 G stuff earlier today. Let them spin their wheels on that. Otherwise, I agree. Keep it private.

I say just use coded terms when something is up, no open links. Member asks for a link, PM it to them. That will cut out all of the watchers.

Agree, but with pm may take more time? I am guessing that we should have group pm? Sorry am kind of new with all the forum features..

I think edit and delete the link after goes OOS is a easier way to keep thing in check.

I think we should just report when it shows up in wish list. If someone posts about how to get it via wish list, then PM them

Problem with that is there are some people, who when you send them a PM...don't bother to answer. Not very neighborly.

sjg1966, clean the link out of your post.

Ok, I have to regroup, go to restroom and everything....what a day.

I've been working on this and I won't mentionwho all knows because they'll get slammed with PM's.

Anyway, there are a couple of others involved at this point and the smart ones have figured it out.

Ok, I had to give back to CG, but now, what to do?

Well, only PM the links to the ones who appreciate it and would do or currently do the same for you and others on the forum.

**I realize this will seem odd as a first post, but I'm a long time calguns lurker (live in a state north of you folks)**

I've spent the past 10 years working in the social web-communities world.

The deal is that it is pretty impossible to have this sort of time-critical conversation in a private way using a public forum. PM's are going to be a pain. Editing links out isn't going to totally eliminate the problem. You could ask the admins to make you a private forum. But I'm guessing they would have offered to do that already if they wanted to do so. Plus, then you are stuck trying to decide who gets in and who gets out and probably hassling the admins every time you need to add or remove someone. Headache.

A private email list, facebook group or wordpress blog would be solutions that are slightly better designed for this sort of thing. But will still have some of the above issues (mostly the "who gets in" type stuff).

I'm not sure what the solution is. I don't post or use GB, so I'm not sure how that works as far as keeping stuff from going up on there that is seen here.

You all do good work and I'm in your debt. I know a lot about making web-groups. So if there's anything I can do to help, let me know.

True but it did helped me twice when I was watching. Granted, my intents were honest but they are others that are not. I guess that there is a fine line between being an outsider or not. And who says that someone can pretend. I as for me, being new here I have to earn your trust and respect.

There is a private version of this forum in the contributor's lounge but it never really gained traction. We could give it another try but that would require those who are interested to give a little to CGN.
