Could not agree more. There are a handful of people who have been very informational and supportive in this thread. mrrabbit is one of them. Of the CGers that I have seen being the most helpful to all in this thread, it is funny I do not see them leading the crapping. Mostly people who feel self righteous and newly joined.

So honest question, as to the likes of mrrabbit, do you guys just not care that others are using the links, spreading them around, causing dead links and slow websites? Cause I know some of you cared a lot when the links died.
We ALL want to help each other, I just don't understand why you can't grasp the idea of managing the links in a better way, I.e moving the forum. It will be the same it always has, just not visible to EVERYBODY.It takes one to know one.Comment

It's bizarre. People see a good thing, they don't really understand why it works, they try to change things. Never mind that there are reasons things are set up as they are, but they can't be bothered to figure out why. I think this latest crowd is by far the worst though - this is the first time it's devolved into outright sabotage.Comment

FWIW...SoCal Big 5's have been dry of 22lr for 14 of the past 17 days (and 12 days straight of no ammo). I still think we are feeling the affects from the east coast snow storm from a week or two back. Weather being OK, it may take a few more days before those delayed shipments arrive to retailers.
BTW - I have a Big 5 source who has been 90% reliable. Anyone know someone at Dick's? It would be nice to cover as many retailers as possible..

You want to start a new forum great. that is your right, no problem and I will go there and post finds as I see them.So honest question, as to the likes of mrrabbit, do you guys just not care that others are using the links, spreading them around, causing dead links and slow websites? Cause I know some of you cared a lot when the links died.

What I have a problem with is everyone crapping this thread and acting like a bunch of children. Go to the new thread and leave this one alone. If some want to continue to help anyone that is also their choice. Yes there are flipper and people from FB. They will find the new thread as well. To each their own.NRA Lifetime MemberComment

1. The dead link is no big deal. Anybody with any sense emailed themselves a copy long ago. If you didn't just grab a recent working link and hit the button. Takes 30 seconds. So honest question, as to the likes of mrrabbit, do you guys just not care that others are using the links, spreading them around, causing dead links and slow websites? Cause I know some of you cared a lot when the links died.

2. Slow websites there's nothing you can do about. Gander slows down every night about 8:00pm if people post anything or not.
3. Moving the thread is NOT a better way, because it takes about a minute to create a calguns account, and if the problem is people spreading the links the minute they spread them it's out of your control. It's the INTERNET for God's sake.
4. Why do people post links? The regulars who have been posting links for the last year have ammo coming out of their ears. They do it out of a sense of community. If you hijack that community I think you'll find things are a lot less productive. By crapping on this thread you've all sent a big f-you to the contributors. If that's the way you want it, fine, but don't expect us to keep sharing.Comment

I've been in this thread since august, attempting to help and only posting when I find a deal first(rarely). i've only found maybe 2 or 3 bricks of ammo total from this thread. All of which I have sold to friends at or below cost. I am only looking for ammo now for friends who are new shooters. about half the posters in this thread were fed up with the fact that this post is public and everyone is ripping off their effort and they now cannot find any ammo. I cannot fathom your objection to moving this to OT where only calgunners can see it. Everyone on this site can do it, even you.Comment

I mean hey, if you guys don't care whatever. I didn't start new threads, or "sabotage" the OP, just trying to see it from a different perspective and shed light on why it may be a better option. Hell, I think I've only bought ammo a few times, I've spent most of the time in PM's helping others figure it all out.It takes one to know one.Comment

So your argument is it won't help. Got it. You might be right.10,000+ folks nationwide have probably been using these links for 4 weeks plus. You can't put the genie back in the bottle. Nor do you control Cabela's system environment and inventory.
It's an exercise in futility trying to.

And when you do find ammo - including ammo you don't need - buy it anyway for someone you know who will need it.
5900 rounds sit in my hands now - it's already been offered to two charitable marksmanship program representatives.
Why? Because I only shoot entry level match grade ammo.

Why are talking about genies in a bottle and me controlling myself?
There are two sides to moving the forum where only members can see, and keeping it exactly how it is. We are all on the side of finding ammo.
Now I can name 3 really good reasons on why it should be moved. And none on why it should stay. Just my opinion, on a forum, on the internet. If nothing happens, I do not care, and I'll continue contributing as I have been and continue being a "Newb" until I hit a magic number that says I'm not. :smile:It takes one to know one.Comment
