I just tried to order some Blazers from Cabelas and it said "out of stock" when I clicked on checkout.

Cabela's price of $27.99 /500 Blazers isn't great, but it's certainly OK if you need the ammo. The difference between a "great' price of $20.99 or so and $27.99 is $7.00. I figure a 500 brick equals 3 typical range trips for me. On those 3 trips I'll go through around $60-$65 worth of 9mm and $25-30 worth of .22lr, and pay the range $45. So $7 more or less is pretty insignificant if I need the ammo. I don't need it, so I haven't bought it. Cabela's B&M store had 50 rd boxes at $2.99 with limit of 2, and 2 people called their buddies while I was there to come and get their whopping 100 rounds. IMHO people who feel .22LR is an "investment" or the "new currency when TSHTF" are the ones whose stash of .22LR will be hauled to the fire station or wherever for disposal after they're gone. It's for shooting. Not that I have any beef with people buying it for whatever reason they see fit.

                        Regarding the Cabela's Ammunition Links:

                        1. When you use our links, you are opening a PRE-POPULATED shopping cart.

                        2. That is NOT what you will be able to buy!

                        3. Clicking on "CHECKOUT" only UPDATES the PRE-POPULATED shopping cart.

                        4. Two things will happen:

                        a. All items will be removed - nothing is available or in stock.

                        b. Most items will be removed - only 1 or a few items will remain.

If the result is "b", proceeding forward will allow you to buy those items.

If the result is "a", then you just need to open the links at a later time.

                        5. PLEASE RESPECT THE FOLLOWING:

If you do end up with an UPDATED shopping cart that has items available for purchase - BUT - you decide NOT to purchase - PLEASE USE THE REMOVE LINKS TO EMPTY THE CART BEFORE YOU CLOSE THE PAGE OR TAB.

This way you help keep the items available to those folks who do want to buy the available items.

                        THANK YOU!

And don't call Cabela's about your order unless its to specifically cancel it. But don't place the order unless you want it! They don't need anymore details......

                          Hey MRrabbit,

I think you lost half of them after the first dot ".", as they think you were going to explain math.

Pretty good....But I would add one thing.

Finally, DO NOT CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE. They do not see the stock we see and will cancel your order. Shipments are unloaded, and scanned into the inventory system. Sometimes the main site doesn't get updated which is what CS goes by.

If you order more than one you run the risk of your orders being canceled and put on the ban list for violation of this rule posted on the product description:

To ensure all of our customers have fair access to inventories, this product has a quantity limit of 1 per order, per customer, per day.

No freaking kidding, they probably got multiple pallets of cases. Good thing, because the more people that get their hands on .22 ammo the more the shortage and panic is going to cool off.

Its sounds like some of those folks are really abusing the system. But hey, thats fine with me. It allows me the chance to buy more the next day. haha
