I've been buying them for $8.49 with no shipping cost to the nearest Cabela's. Yes it's only 100 rounds a day but it adds up. Then I make the 40 mile roundtrip drive once a month and pick everything up.

Let me see if I have this right. $8.49 plus tax of approx .70 cents is $9.19. Now if your car gets 20 mpg your trip costs $14.00 in gas for a total cost for 1k rds is
10.5 per rd. cheaper to order and have delivered.

If he followed your advice, seeing how you think its cheaper to ship them, he'd be paying shipping costs on 100rds multiple times, since you can only order 1 at a time. Doing it his way he sends them to a store and makes 1 trip each month to pick up his orders. His way is better.

Last time I made a Cabelas run I had 38 orders for a total of just over 31,000 rounds. When I called the manger, he said they hold the orders for 60 days, or was it 90?? The big problem is after it is delivered, I get an email asking me to pick it up within two weeks. After two weeks, I get an automated phone call, not from the store but from the corporate office, reminding me about the order, several times a week. Multiply that by 20-30 orders and it's a real pain in the arse.

I set my phone up for a special ring when they call so I know not to bother answering it.
