ARGH. No more ammo for me for a while!

I forgot a couple things I needed, so I picked up the Winchester and the Aguila SV stuff they added., so that's another 1055 rounds for the day.

          2555 isn't a half bad haul for a day!

Shipping was 19.81 for me, WAY too much.

Anyone know what's up with the Aguila ammo stating for bolt action only?

Even the 40 grain stuff says bolt action.
Most Aguila should be GTG, but stay away from the Colibri, that's too low powered to cycle semi-auto. Not sure about the subsonic, either, but the rest should be fine.

I think Midway was cutting and pasting the descriptions, frankly, and got carried away. Although technically it says "good for bolt action" it does NOT say "only", nor does it say "not good for semi-auto". The user reviews should give mention of what sorts of guns cycle them ok, as well. Don't take one negative review as the sole arbiter, of course.

                    Thank you!
Reviews are great as far as cycling the semi-auto for all the ammo I purchased but the hollow point 38grain subsonic.
Mixed reviews on that as far as semi-auto goes.

Guys complain time and time again about Midways shipping cost, the solution is simple, keep other items you need in your shopping cart. You can never have too many shoot and see targets, cans of Gunscrubber, Hoppes #9, cleaning brushes, patches, ect.

Aguila is premium .22 lr ammo. They have a wide range of offerings. Their SV loads are as good as anything else. Reliable, and accurate.

Their hyper velocity loads are similar to CCI offerings, hotter than usual. It is probably ideal to shoot them it a bolt action but limited use is not going to hurt a 10/22.

                        Aguila Supermaxium= CCI Stinger

                        Aguila Intercepter= CCI Velocitor

If you are using the 10/22, KIDD offers a bolt handle that comes with
3 springs. Heavy for Hyper verocities, medium which is the same as stock and
light, which will shoot the subsonic AND cycle the bolt.

I would also stay away from that Colbi stuff.

Why is hypervelocity harder on bolt? Seems like that ammo weighs less. So doesn't lower weight offset higher velocity?

Would be better shot out of a bolt action....hyper velocity stuff is harder on recoil buffers, springs, and guide rods. Probably won't kill a semi, but its like shooting +P or +P+ ammo out of a pistol. Just quicker wear. sometimes you will have stovepipe?failure to feed or eject issues also because the spring might not be heavy enough to handle increased recoil
