For the "moderators" of the ammo thread chopping down those who are subscribed and get a notification for every irrelevant post:

      Lets apply simple rules:

      1. Post the Link or location and contact information
      2. Don Not post that you bought it - save the thread for finds
      3. If you notice it ran out, Post "It's All Gone" follow Outed post

If you come up with other rules, let me know or if you think the idea stinks, let me know :-)

But who cares to read the first post of the thread. Its more fun to belittle those that "don't contribute".

Carry on and add me to the list of members who fond issue with "hey I have 12000 rounds, look at me :-)"

Just throwing it out there. How about a new ammo finds thread that allows bantering and chatting for us that aren't super anal about it AND the original one can stay for just strictly ammo finds period. Those that want ammo finds period can go look for their own ammo there and share their own finds there without being bothered by us chit chatting. Finding ammo is a PITA as it is, why make it even more boring and tedious? Specially during slow times?

A no chatting rule on a blog site?

I sympathize with the view that it should be all about ammo finds in this thread, but to regulate chatter, hmmmm. A big THANK YOU to all of the regular posters on this thread - your efforts have definitely benefitted a host of folks (so do the hell you like). May good karma and affordable ammo come our way!

Carry on and keep up the good work.

There's always more chatter on the weekends since most companies don't add new stock over the weekend and there's not much else to post anyway.

Personally I think the chatter is good. I ran my scripts and posted finds for a long time after I was done buying .22 because I like most of the people participating in the thread and wanted to help out. If it's just the same three guys posting finds with no feedback where's the fun in that?

This ammo thread has been effective! I think some simply EXPECT to come on here & only see available ammo, or ammo related comments. Some of us live in reality...Thanks to all who participate! I have a decent stash of ammo now, wasn't cheap, but I have plenty.
Yes I took the pic, no I didn't go swimming!

This thread has performed just fine - one of the best on Calguns in my opinion.

                    1. People will chat on occasion.
                    2. Someone will make the reminder.
                    3. Folks will continue reporting finds.

                    No other thread is necessary...

                    Sorry....
I forgot, the chitchat police will be knocking I'm sure.

                      I agree 100%!

In my opinion, what benefits people the most in this forum is that there are participants that are willing to continue to share, since expanding this sport is critical. Sharing ammo finds and other information is a personal decision.

Use this forum to learn how to source ammo. It is all there. Then, once you learn, give back, so others can learn. And, learning does not mean just waiting to click on a link provided for you!

I've never ordered from GanderMountain. Is there a way to avoid the $9 surcharge on ammo?

Also is there a thread that gives tips on ordering from vendors?

                        Thanks

$9 isn't that bad if you order enough ammo/miscellaneous items to get free shipping when the average shipping cost for Midway or Natchez is $18!

Send vendors a PM. Try starting there.

I'll gladly pay $9 to ship 2k plus rounds. Midway and others want a minimum of almost $20 to ship to me

And $9 is not near as expensive as most sales tax in this state again pending on size of the order

Ammo find of the day ..

I thought you might get a chuckle .. or maybe a frown .. in any event my daughter is doing a 20 year purge of my office, and stumbled across this ..

                              P1000016.jpg

The black tip is an M-22, and the other rimmed cartridge is an ubiquitous 45-70 (the 70 comes from .. 70 grains of black powder from the olden days .. not the length) Gov't oinker round for comparison. And btw .. the "oinker" round cost about the same as the old box of 22LR at our local mercantile (no lgs out here) a few months back. Anyhoo .. that box is soo old .. doesn't even use the barcode system.

Soo .. what ya got amigos .. Essayons!

sorry no ammo updates but i was wondering for the people who ordered through GM middle of last week if anyone got a message about the delay due to floods in colorado? still on its way but might take a little longer.. positive vibes go out to those in CO.
