The problem with any plan that starts with "if we could all agree" is that you CAN'T get everyone to agree. People will do whatever they're going to do. If you got 50% of the ammo buying public to stop buying, the other 50% would continue to snap everything up, and clear the shelves just as fast. You just need to wait till the stockpilers decide they have enough. The real "hoarders" will keep hoarding no matter how much they have, but I really think they're the minority. I'm definitely NOT panic buying or hoarding. For the last several months, I've passed up more reasonably priced ammo than I've bought. I'm pretty much at my saturation point for .22, with a good 2 year supply. The people that seriously believe you won't be able to buy ANY ammo 2 years from now will keep buying no matter what. If they're right, they'll look like geniuses, but I don't see it happening. Nor do I see any scenario where your stash of .22 determines life or death. I'm happy with buying as much as I shoot at this point.I can certainly agree with your logic towards hoarding vs stocking up.
Perhaps hoarding was not the best wording in my statement.
Correct me if you think I'm wrong but I think we could all agree that if for just one month we all stopped buying beyond what we can shoot in a month or so and all the flippers stopped flipping, the market would correct itself to the point that we could all be comfortable with a months supply.
I do think we are all still "panick" buying based on the hindsight of the WWII like shortages of what we all took for granted in the pre obama good ole days.
I have put out the word to anybody in my sphere of life that i can get .22's at "regular" prices if they have the cash.Comment

In the mean time I think we can all agree to keep buying as we see fit and can afford.
My wife doesn't agree.karma ?
The blessings I experience every day are far better than the wrath I deserve.
Thankfully, there is no such thing as karma.
Proof being that if it did exist we would all most assuredly be dead

Got my 300 CCI Tactical box today. I figured they would be like the old box just little smaller and with 300 on it.
Nope, its in a box that houses 3 slider size trays. So its like the 100 rd sliders WITHOUT the outer clear casing.
Def different thats for sure,haha

First post since moving over from the S&W forum. Learned a lot here in the last couple of days, especially about extensions and plugins for monitoring web page changes.1-20-17Comment

It's also probably worth mentioning that (in the absence of another exogenic political shock) the percentage of people "hoarding" ammunition will gradually decrease as their budgets start to feel the strain. This is not to say that California (or other states, or the federal government) won't pass some onerous taxes, purchasing restrictions, or registration requirements for purchasing ammunition in the future. That said, it is each individual's responsibility to stock as much ammunition as he believes is necessary for his own personal situation. This also must be done in the dynamically changing market environment. The best such an individual can do is determine how much time, money, and work he is willing to devote towards achieving his goals - then finding the most efficient means for doing so.

Couldnt be said any clearer than that right there. 100% on the money. It's also probably worth mentioning that (in the absence of another exogenic political shock) the percentage of people "hoarding" ammunition will gradually decrease as their budgets start to feel the strain. awesome, another leech-lurker
To those who keep talking about so called "naughty lists", "black lists", and getting put in time out for ordering more then you should, are you serious? You realize that this isn't elementary school and you all sound like a bunch of firsy graders right? I continually place multiple orders and multi box orders (Tacticals at Cabela's recently) and haven't wound up on some made up "naughty list". Sometimes a few of my oders get canceled, other times all 6-7 orders a day go through. The reality is it just depends on who processes your orders that day. Some pay attention more than the next guy. That's it there's nothing more or less to it.
If it wasn't for a few here posting good links then this place would be just as bad as the S&W forum and the "Link Nazi" that runs it....Comment

Liberty Head had mentioned last night about the "disconnect" add on for Firefox. I installed it, and I'm impressed. It's not one of the auto-reload add ons, but what it does is block a lot of the sites that track you every time you go to a page. Every time you go to a Gander page there are about 17 sites trying to track you, mostly advertisers + google + facebook, etc. All that stuff takes time when you load the pages. I've only used it since last night, but I can tell it really speeds things up.Comment
