Are you going to flip it? The flippers are half of the problem, helping create a false panic by buying up the ammo before the rest of the market. The other half of the problem is the hoarders (like myself).

I was told it was a surge in ammo. I talked to cabelas today and the guy I spoke with told me they have seen an increase in availability as well.

Do you guys feel that the amount of 22's available for us has gone up or is this typical for recent times? Are we just getting better at finding the links and posting them so our community can get ammo or has the supply increased and we have poised ourselves to get the lions share?
I have a question for you, are you shooting or just selling?

I've been on this thread since October late September it's maybe a little more fluid since then but there was a big drought from mid to late December through early January now it's really coming alive again.

I just need to look away I have big game drawings to apply for and stop buying rimfire

Honestly I don't care. I was just curious.

Frankly I have not been here long enough to know of a pattern. Seems like when it rains it pours. It comes in bunches lately.

If you went back to the beginning of the thread you should be able to see a pattern.

After reading an article- there is no drought, just a bunch of flippers and hoarders creating a false panic. Ammo producers never stopped producing ammo- if anything they actually increased production but flippers and hoarders get to it before the general public resulting in "limited" like inventory. My local walmart has everything but 22lr and 9mm which gets snagged up since it is the cheapest to shoot.

When all is said and done, I don't care if people sell or flip. I've had my stash and just contribute here. I do pick up bricks or buckets here and there to keep my supply nice for shooting days ie shoot and replenish. On a sad side, I did end up with varying 22LRs from various manufacturers making it ****ty to site in a rifle when you have things from bulk, single 50 packs, and specialty ammo. I was trying to sell 250 rounds of random 50 packs but ended up keeping it. I do however- want to either trade/sell some bulk packs (mostly trade 1 for 1) to keep the same grn and manufacturer constant so remove variables for precision shooting. 40grn isn't simply 40 grn when you shoot company a vs company b.

Interesting that you in a buying thread inquiring about supply and demand.
Looks like you have had a pretty healthy inventory of .22s for sale in the very recent past.

Prices approximately double what we are paying right now.
You should have hung onto some of what you had for sale.
A pile like you had would last me the rest of my life.

Gee, that was/is a nice stack. So I guess that answers my question since ammoman didn't. Thanks Shorthair

It really dried up around Christmas / New Years. A bunch has been hitting lately but nobody has any idea if this is the new normal or if it's just stuff that wasn't processed earlier.

There's no change in terms of our ability to find the links - people have been running scripts to find stuff right away for ages. If anything it's gotten harder because now you have to get in ahead of gunbot.

In terms of the people talking about flipping - I basically shorted the ammo market by selling some of my stockpile when things were REALLY bad around April/May and had no trouble replacing it around... I think it was around September/October. Starting flipping now is really missing the boat - you can make some money versus the better online deals but it takes more time and energy than people think to sell ammo. It was one thing to sell a thousand mini mags for $225 and buy it back six months later for $80 or whatever it was. It's another to try to unload tins of 300 rounds that you had to pay shipping on each tin and still make a profit on that.
