I'm a relative newbie when it comes to handguns and especially to rimfire ammo (waiting for my Ruger Mark III to arrive next week). I've always bought other ammo either locally at a retailer or on-line with no problem (cost being the exception). But looking for 22 ammo has become exhausting. As time is money, I went ahead and already overpaid for 22 ammo that will arrive next week.
On a whim, earlier today I logged on to www.armslist.com and see there are a few people throughout the state (I'm in SoCal) selling 22 (and other caliber) ammo at reasonable prices. My question is, as a consumer, as long as it's a face-to-face transaction, why haven't I read of people making such a transaction? Or is such a transaction like meeting someone selling car parts from a post on CL? TIA.

Thanks, it sold out so quick I wasn't sure if I was late or there was a glitch in their website.
Plus, forty minutes after it sold out I got an arrival notification email from Midway, NICE!!!Last edited by wlowe; 10-31-2013, 3:27 PM.Comment

It's not unheard of, I've seen posts of this before on Armslist. Just don't meet at your house IMO, make it a public spot where there's cameras around.I'm a relative newbie when it comes to handguns and especially to rimfire ammo (waiting for my Ruger Mark III to arrive next week). I didn't know that either. Are you sure? The unused balance should be available next time you want opt to use some or all of it.
You should also be using the 3turkey code to get free shipping.
The price you see is the price you should pay... no shipping, no tax delivered right now.
In other words, if the mini-mags are still in stock, just go place another order and apply the balance.
