Midway claims that the shipping takes into account distance from their location, which it probably does. There are a lot of places between CA and MO that have cheaper shipping, discounted shipping, specials for free shipping etc. I like Midway but dang, if I can save 10-15% on a box of ammo, duh.

Picked me up 3 boxes, $9.99 shipping = .010 cents a round. Not to terribly bad. Midway shipping for the Aguilla was $18.00 for 1 box of 500 = .16 per round which to me is no bueno.235rds 22lr cphp winchester for $19.99 limit 3 boxes

http://www.gradysoutdoors.com/winche...6gr-cphp-19903Everybody craps on shipping this shipping that. It's not all about shipping folks. If you think you got a deal because you paid $9.99 shipping on those Winchesters for $19.99 each with a limit of 3, guess what you didn't because they are normally $9.99 each. So you paid $30 more than you should have, but I guess the $9.99 shipping makes that all better.

Good eye and thanks for looking out. I saw the Grady's and thought the price was a bit high for only 235 roundsEverybody craps on shipping this shipping that. It's not all about shipping folks. And.....Ganders limit is 10..... free shipping over $50, and a $9.00 "ammo surcharge". so, boys and girls, $9.00 shipping on 10 items of this size is not bad in my book.Everybody craps on shipping this shipping that. Gradys usually costs 50 - 100% more than other stores. I don't like to pay for the shipping at Midway, but if you want to know what a good price for an item is, check Midway and sometimes Gander although Gander is usually higher.235rds 22lr cphp winchester for $19.99 limit 3 boxes

Midway's actual prices on ammo are pre panic and fair. I have said it time and time again, keep other shooting related items you need in your cart for when a brick of .22 lr comes in stock to offset shipping costs. Gun cleaning supplies, targets, whatever. Also Midway often has limit 2 target loads of 9mm, .40, and 45 acp. Add a few of those to your cart too before checkout too.
I still think Cabelas is the best place to get .22 lr ammo when they have it, pre panic price and cheap shipping(around $5 for a 500 round brick).Comment

I'm not trying to rag on anybody here, or tell people how to spend their hard earned money, just trying to share info on some things so everybody can get the most bang for their buck. All in all we want the best/reasonable price per round.
Don't get fixated on shipping alone. Can't treat bulk ammo and other types as apples to apples either. We're all looking at price per round.
Bulk ammo like Remington Thunderbolts, Golden bullets, Winchester , Federal bulk, etc shouldn't be more than $.06 per round.
100packs of CCI minimags, Win super X, AR tacticals, M-22s and similar $.06 to $.09
Match ammo ? I'll let others with more experience on this chime in.
If some of the others can add to this it would help.
Added: For everyone posting any finds thank you and please continue. I know every little find helps somebody out there. This is ammo finds and not the deals section. It's up to us buyers to decide if we want to buy it or not.Comment

My take on this:Midway's actual prices on ammo are pre panic and fair. Midway won't ship ammo to my location so they are a moot point. I wanted to buy some 15-22 mags and some parts but their shipping choices/prices were paltry so I passed. They were charging big bucks for parcel post while I can get Priority Mail for shipping the same items at different vendors.
Gander is alright, prices are slightly higher and good selection. You pay their ammo surcharge (ammo tax) but free ship over $50. The only caveat is their packaging sucks and you may incur some damage. I've ordered from them a couple of times and each time, the packaging was bad.
Cabelas has been great with pricing, selection and shipping. At the very least, they tape every package/box closed before putting them into the shipping box.You can give peace a chance...

I think G21 has it right.
You gotta keep other stuff in your cart.
I don't think Midway is too bad on some stuff.
I just ordered 2 magazines and it was only $4.63 for shipping. They were moved by UPS and delivered by USPS.Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.
