Its funny how quickly we have become picky. Many of the prices linked have been excellent prices.

CCI SV hasnt been lower than $5 a box for a long long time.....

5's pretty tight. Even buying by the case my standard plinking .22 was more like 6 cents a year or two ago. I was never really into the crappier bulk ammo.

Sorry, not out of stock yet.

Most sites are strange. If you search for rimfire, you see little in stock. But sometimes you can find 22LR in the adds that show up at the bottom of page, or if you have direct link.

Yeah 5's tight, but if Walmart ever catches up... the best bulk ammo IMHO, Federal Bulk will be regularly priced about .03 per round.

So .05 for mail order bulk is a good target - I don't hesitate to pay more for non-bulk, target, match, CCI, etc...

If it has a chance of ending up as SIG522 food only, like unproven REM GOLDEN BULLETS, WIN555, etc... .05 is my target too.

I am done bulking and am patiently awaiting the arrival of massive pallets full of CCI Mini-Mag 1600 round cans.

I hope you're right on the Federal Bulk (which actually isn't bad ammo), but just from inflation effects I don't know that we'll ever see those prices again.

Large selection of all calibers including .22 at MCX Camp Pendleton. Limit 100 rounds per caliber or one bulk pack. I grabbed 525 Golden Bullet for .22. Of course you need exchange shopping privileges.

Re Ammo Price: There isn't a supply issue -- The ammo companies will make as much as people will buy. It's a demand problem. When demand slows, prices will drop.

                      Folks...

Common economic sense tells you that even if they do return - it will be brief - and later on a creature of very brief major ad sales campaigns.

                      What's that common economic sense?

                      1. The Fed printing press to the tune of trillions of dollars.
                      2. The inflation that results.
                      3. Further inflation cause by hoarding of precious metals in warehouses by banking / investment institutions in a manner that skirts regulations.

In my honest opinion - this year and hopefully into next will be your last chance for:

                      .06 / .07 / .08 per round bulk cheap ammo.

                      .08 / .10 / .12 bulk entry level competition ammo.

                      .12 / .14 / .16 pistol match / rifle match ammo.

Eventually, the base for bulk ammo with firm up into .08 / .10 whether you like it or not.

Eventually the base for pistol match / rifle match will firm up into .16 and above whether you like it or not.

                      That's what inflation does...

If you are being picky on bulk .08 per round while it's available now - and complain come next August that you can find even on it sale per .08 then - you get the misery you have imposed upon yourself.

                      =8-)

                      mrrabit.....You couldn't be more correct!

P.S.....A public thank you to all those members who have posted great 22 ammo deals. I've lucked out several times and gotten great deals. Thanks again!

It is a function of demand and supply. Manufacturers are producing at full capacity, which is not enough to satisfy aggregate demand. Consumers have shown that demand is a bit inelastic during these times.

By the way, it's sometimes better to actually CALL a shop to find out incoming supply. Some shops don't bother updating their website since word of mouth travels and they sell out anyways within a day. I bought 2 cases recently of CCI SV and they had around 700 cases, which disappeared in a day or two.

I agree. It just seems that once people stop hoarding ammo, and only buy what they need to shoot, prices will come down.

Do you mean a local shop? Or the online websites?
