So I just got into this thread on the 30th and already have approx. 5k rounds coming to me from these fantastic deals. It seems like everyday either cabelas or gander mtn have stock of 22 for sale using these back door links. Is this the norm? I guess my question is has it been like this for some time now or has there been a surge in inventory lately?

Comes and goes. We do have times with nothing avail.

I would say we're seeing a surge of more ammo across the board.

850 rds Federal, 5.64 cents round shipped.
Don't know why this backdoor link stuff works but I ain't complaining.
Been trying to do it the old fasioned way for a couple of days and the situation was putnear hopeless.
I placed 2 orders for the same 850 from Cabelas today so one will probably get cancelled but maybe slip through the cracks?
Both orders showed up in my in-basket.
And ya, the Cabelas pictures can be a bit deceiving, use caution.

I wouldn't call any of them "Fantastic" Its been pretty steady since last summer. I've found ammo at my local Bass Pro shops and just recently WalMart (last Friday) but I didn't buy any because I don't need it. IMO, the price and supply have caught up to the re-sellers.

Just wondering how long 5K of 22LR will last you?

If you try you can get ammo. But you gota be in the right place and ready to order. In the past couple weeks you coulda bought 10's of thousands if you wanted. And thats just what I've pers seen. Not including what I wasnt online to see.

If Cabelas customer service can't find ammo from themselves maybe the system isn't as fool proof as I might think.

A bunch of us came here from another forum where we were ridiculed for posting and buying so much ammo. We were outright accused of being the cause of the ammo shortage, if you can believe that. Calgun has always been a source of ammo for me, but since the first of the year, when we made Calgun our "home", and we started to post our finds here regularly, I think a lot of people have found the ammo that we have known to be available for some time now.

Has more been available recently. Yes, but not as much as was available the second and third week in December. Everyone had ammo during that time.

I double dipped a few weeks ago and got both in the mail the same day.
