My CZ and Kimber seem to like the same, almost. The Savage is the pickiest (is that a word?) of all.

PS: Where did you get the Center-X, how much per box?
Cahampion Shooters Supply. $15 a box if I remember right. My Savage likes the Eley Tenex really well too, but thats out of my price range. So far, it's RWS R50, RWS Rifle Match/SK Std + (tie for performance) and 711B.
I don't think there's anything in the standard velocity ammos I haven't tried unless it's been discontinued, or out of stock. If I had known how picky my BV was I think I would've gone 10/22T.

I feel exactly the same about my BTVS. Too picky with ammo. Heck even though it shoots inexpensive ammo badly it also shoots like a shotgun pattern so I can't even zero the scope. It does just OK with Eley Sport but always a flyer or two out of a 5 shot group and I doubt it is always the ammo as I shoot that same ammo in a Zastava Z5 with better results.

I also get my speciality ammo from Champion Shooters Supply. Last purchase of the Center-X was $9.50/50 + shipping. I usually order a bunch of something to cut down on the shipping costs.

I went to the Vallejo fun show on Saturday and picked up a super clean Mossberg M44US from a dealer I have gotten to be friends with. He bought it from CMP years ago, added an aperture front sight to it, and also purchased a magazine and trigger guard. It's in beautiful shape and I will post up some pics of it soon. I'm using the Mossberg S-100 aperture rear sight.

I went out to USI yesterday morning and here are the results at 50 Yds:

That is good shooting with the 44US @ 50 yds. I do just about the same grouping with my 44US but its @25 yds. Wish I could get the trigger to be a little smoother and a lot lighter. What ammo?

              Hi Izzy,

This was the first time shooting this rifle and all I had was some Wolf Match. I just received a horde of SK Rifle Match and some Lapua Center X on Thursday, so my Son and I are headed down to the range today to give it a try and see if we can improve our score. I'll report back on the results.

EDIT: OK, here is the only target I shot Saturday for the rimfire match. It's doing well but I think I can make some improvements in the trigger and maybe get a different size aperture and I might get some better numbers:

I collect Military Arms and enjoy shooting in local matches. I also collect older Lever Actions, especially those chambered in odd/old cartridges. If you have a nice old Winchester or Marlin in 25-20, 32-40, 38-55, 40-60, 45-70, etc etc, please PM me and we can work out a deal.

The rules are followed I am certain, he just didn't want to write a friggin' novel to cover the details of a simple .22 LR rifle purchase that would fit on a post card in most other states with room for the Bill of Rights.

Talk about jumping to conclusions and stirring up trouble. Do you work and lurk for Brady here or what?

Get a grip dude.... Just a simple question... I've purchased C&R's from private parties, but never at a gun show. Just wondering if ther are any other rules that apply? Would you like to expound your voluminous knowledge to a newbie? or just be a D!@K? Thanks in advance, and....have a great day!!!

It all depends on if you are buying from an individual or an 01FFL. Most of the guys who have tables at the Vallejo show are 03FFL C&R holders, (meaning they are NOT 01FFL) so you can buy a C&R rifle and it's cash and carry. I have a COE as well, so even buying a C&R from a dealer I can walk out with it the same day. If you are buying from an 01FFL and don't have a COE then you have to wait 10 days which totally sucks because the guy buying over at the next table could get his the same day and you have to wait.

The best part of that transaction was that I walked in with a Finnish Mosin I wanted to sell and the dealer across from my friend's table paid me my full asking price for the Finn, so i turned around and bought the Mossberg and had money left over to buy another Finn When I got home I snuck into my office carrying both rifles and my wife asked from the kitchen "did you sell your rifle?" and I said "yes I did" and kept on walking

Good shooting, getting better. More shooting will help tighten the groups as well. Be careful working on the trigger especially if you do any honing. Let me know how the trigger work goes. My trigger is fairly crisp but a hard pull.

Sweeeeet!!! My kids blew my cover on the last range trip with a count of long guns... my wife mentioned the inventory seemed to have gotten larger than the last time she had heard. heh heh

Went to the range today, shot two 50 yd scoped targets. One with SK std+ and the other with RWS R50. Neither one is really worth mentioning, except there's not too many posting this month. RWS (picture) got me a 15 out of my Savage mkII BV with a NIkon 6-18x40. SK got me a 9... poor performance all around. I shot a box more of each for groups just to make sure it wasn't the rifle. Nope, can't use that excuse.
