Ouch, I remember those days.

I recommend that you put a way a little bit of "fun money" away either from your part time job or allowance for your 10/22. If you simply put $20 away each month you'll have $100 in five months. It really adds up over time. I do the same with my "gun funds" so that I'm always sending in a controlled way.

Since you are in Cypress I highly recommend that you come to the OC Weekly Ontarget shoot. The next one will probably be on July 13th at 6:30 in Laguna Niguel. There will be plenty of people to help you out and teach new shooters a thing or two.

This is true, typically you will need someone over 21 to purchase .22LR ammo. My suggestion would be to buy a couple thousand rounds when you can to stock up on ammo. Gun shows are a great place to do this. At the last show I bought 5250 rounds for $175... that comes out to $17 per brick for pretty decent ammo.

Also I would suggest you look into an appleseed event. You will learn a ton from the weekend.... start saving now, since you will need a few things, such as a sling ($10-$15) Swivels ($10-$15) and Tech Sights ($60) The actual class will cost about $70 plus any range fees <$40. On top of that you will Probably shoot 5 to 8 hundred rounds which will be another $30 or $40. But you will become a much better shooter, they will teach fundamentals and marksmanship, and by the end you will be amazed at how much you improve.

That's true as .22 ammo can be used in either. However I know that Walmart asks if the ammo is for a rifle or a pistol then for ID. They should sell you ammo however not all of the sales people understand the law so don't get upset if they won't sell to you because of your age.

You might politely ask to speak to a manager if they won't sell to you. Worth a try as you are following the law but don't push them hard cause then you won't get any ammo for sure.

I know, I should have got it while I was there. My parents are too busy to go with me and it is kind of far so the money I would save would cost me in gas. So I will have to wait to pay the extra $5 when I go back and pick the gun up.

I called them and the 550 pack is $19.97. That is cheaper than the 525 pack at full price at Turners. So next time my mom goes there, I will pick some up. I can't get my gun for another week anyways.
