Anybody shoot a CA Model yet?

I've put about 1400 rounds through my GSG in the past 6 months. Pretty much no different from the CA model except for the non-threaded barrel.

CCI ammo (Mini Mags & Blazer) and Federal value pack red box ammo runs flawless through my gun. Federal value pack blue box ammo gives me lots of problems, and I've heard the same from a lot of other GSG owners. I'm curious to see if the CA model will be any exception to that (if the new barrels have something to do with it).

There are two things different between the GSG-1911CA and the GSG-1911.
The GSG-1911CA does not have a threaded barrel and is marked GSG-1911CA on the slide.

If you look at my picture posted above, my slide actually does not have the 'CA' label. This batch might be non-California with the non-threaded barrel.

Markley's in Watsonville has at least one because I asked them to put one on hold for me $330 which isn't bad but I wouldn't pay the $399 canyon is asking.

Markley's $330 price tag is a killer deal. City Arms is charged me $370 and my deposit at Target Masters West was for $361.

Mine came with the steel barrel bushing. But there's also a lot of play in it. There are threads on this on the 1911 forums.

I've been using the EGW Prefit Match Barrel bushing and it's tight and gives me some really good groupings. A couple of other guys are also running the same bushing.

Only one mag when I inspected mines.

There was only 1 mag with the pistol. Thirty dollars seems a little expensive for an extra mag, but i guess it's still cheaper than some others.

Yes, but mostly at further distances.

At 25 yards (indoor range, no wind or elements), my groupings are about palm size if I'm concentrating & shooting slow with the EGW bushing. With the stock bushing, they're all over center mass when shooting the same way.

Just to warn you, it's not a drop-in fit. In fact, none of my 'regular' match grade 1911 barrel bushings that I would normally use on my Kimber would drop right into the GSG. I had to do some filing to make it fit right in the slide, and it's still pretty tight (tight to remove and put in, but the results are worth it for me).

Most 1911 parts will work on the GSG guns, but there are times when fitting or some modifying is required. I had to file my Kimber TLE MSH a little bit to fit onto the GSG, and one of the non-ambi safety levers needed to be filed (the current one I'm using dropped right in). I changed the grip screws and you need to put new bushings in to accomdate the allen/hex or torx screws, and the holes needed to be rethreaded with a tap if you want to do it right.

Did you do anything to fix the grip safety since it needs a lot of force to engage?

NOOO!!!! I just got a call from City Arms and they had to cancel the DROS because the pistol is not on the Roster. I am getting a refund. I don't want to argue.

Looks like M&P9 here I come.

I've never heard of that problem on the GSG 1911's. Mine grip safety is easy to push in, lighter than my Kimber's grip safety.
