GSG 1911

After some thought and time, I decided that my glock 17 purchase is going have to wait, and I wanna be better at shooting and become somewhat of a marksman. I realized that 22lr is essential for every serious shooter.

I shot Ruger MKII, not a big fan. Don't get me wrong, the gun is great, and it's probably one of the best for target practice. But I just didn't like it. I came across this

To me, it looks pretty legit. I watched reviews on youtube, and made some other research. I saw one on gunbroker.com for $315.
So any input feedback? Advice before I buy it?

The CA approved version (German Sport Gun GSG-1911CA) has not been released yet.
ATI is estimating a Q3 2011 release time frame.

The GSG-1911 that is currently available is not legal in CA due to it having a threaded barrel, which makes it an assault weapon under CA laws.


I believe Turner's was taking pre-orders for the GSG-1911CA for around $350.

Lol well that's how I found out about the GSG. I saw a post by sig Sauer on facebokb saying 1911-22 sig just came out, but it's not on the ca roster. Someone told me that I should just get the gsg since it's on the roster and they're pretty similar.

Yeah, someone stated in the comments of that article that it's the same gun as the GSG. So if you want one that says SIG, there you go!

There was an article about the GSG in Guns Magazine, and the writer pretty much raved about it.

Get it. $300 is a good price, from what I've seen.

I got my GSG 1911 .22LR back in March and I've been loving it ever since. Ammo for it is dirt cheap, but the mags are expensive ($28 each). On every range outing, I always shoot mine because it's just fun to shoot, and dirt cheap to shoot.
