Thanks for the info. I was originally going to go out and buy one as soon as it was available.. but I think I'll wait it out a bit until either kinks get worked out or I can get one cheap enough to cover costs of potential replacement parts.

The earlier GSG 1911 had a solid guide rod that was virtually problem free... it seems that they went to this as a "cost savings."

My GSG has the solid guide rod and a metal barrel bushing (came that way, never had to get anything replaced from ATI).

Never had any problems feeding or ejecting the ammo that I use, except for the Federal Champion BLUE box stuff (red box is fine). I wonder if the newer guide rode would make any difference, but I don't really care to find out since what I have now is working great.

Mine also has a solid guide rod and I have not experienced a problem with it either - and I've got over 4000 rounds through mine to date.

My post made reference to the newer, fluted plastic one that many guys have found in more recent production purchases. It is obviously inferior to the solid rod that was originally installed in the pistol by GSG; some of those that have them have experienced failures.

Just heard 100 guns shipped. Not sure if this is 100 guns per shop, or 100 guns total. I sure as hell hope it's 100 per shop.

Yes, yours will be discounted and I also have been told that 100 guns shipped and should be here in 2-4 days.

That was the route that I went. Received it today. Will play with it on the 21st at USI (Bay Point). BYOA and you can play with it too.
