turners in west covina has a friendly staff. Turners in chinos hills, eh not quite as chatty but still good. Turners Chino Hills has really cute, friendly cashier girls and an angel of a girl that work the gun counter. very nice, very cute girl showed me the basics on my heritage rough rider when I picked it up. It was cute cuz I was kinda helping her figure out things she was suppose to know and be showing me.

Ah, this woman that brought out my S&W rifle was realllly nice and really attractive Maybe that was her. Talked to her and this guy next to me who owned the rifle for a little bit. That was a nice day!
I dunno if it's because I'm new to hanging out at gun shops or because I work in a dept. store but at times I think it would be nice if guys behind the counter would be more active in customer service. I just get this uhh..kind of awkward vibe from some of these guys.

The one in Orange is really friendly.. the cashier is pretty cute too.. lol

Unfriendly was Ammo Bros in Cerritos.. they seemed annoyed when I came in to pick up two guns.

I remember all of these things when it comes time to spend money.

Same experience here with ammo bros in cerritos. I went to go pick up a FFL transfer from a online purchase and the employees treated me like I was bothering/annoying them. Needless to say I refuse to take my business there even if they do have lower prices. Turners in Norwalk/Covina are great with very friendly employees but Rifle Gear is by far the best gun store for customer service. Rifle Gear's customer service is on par with Chic-fila lol

I had good experience with the South Bay Turners. Ammo Bro's in Cerritos, it depends who you talk to, some of the guys there are great, others, I can understand why you'll feel the static walking in, i think the owners son or managers son or whatever, gave me a dirty look when i blurted out to my buddy that the 223 ammo was a bit overpriced. Otherwise, all the times i've dealt with them, they were gtg.

Thats pretty much the same EXACT experience I had at Turner's Redondo, but I don't walk into a gun store and expect the guy to kiss my ***. Like you, I also standed at the counter and waited around for 5 minutes while 2 sales guys walked right past me without saying a word with ZERO customers in the store (3pm on a weekday).

Walk into Ammo Brothers Cerritos and they either say "take a number and wait to be called", or they see the paperwork in your hand and if they are not busy enough to use the number system, the guy is asking you how he can help out before you even get to the counter. Great service.

However, compare the two store locations... Ammo Bros mostly seems to get LEOs and guys who are cool and know about guns. Turners Redondo (although Redondo is a nice town) gets ghetto thugs driving into town because Lawndale, Compton, Gardena and Inglewood are all within 10 miles. So, the Turners people have to deal with *****holes all day who know nothing about guns. I would never work there, and I would certainly never hand over a gun to half of the people I have seen shopping in that store. Not Tuners' fault.

I'll still shop at Turner's, I just avoid ghetto crowd times of day. After all, I am not shopping for customer service, I just want a gun.

I have had bad experience with Turners in norwalk and i think ammo bros might even be worse. It comes down to who ends up helping you. At ammo bros. the ones holstered are the worse because they think they are too cool. The others seemed more helpful. It seems there are a**holes in all stores so avoid them and not give them a sell. I have had great service at both and continue to shop at both but i look for the good ones. i do my research ahead of time so i can go in and out as quickly as possible because the longer i stay and expect too much from them then i get irritated with them.

So all in all remember the names of the good ones and smile at the a**holes when they don't get the sale.

every store is different,you do not know if the guys just got done dealing with a couple of douchbebags,a atf/doj inspector,shady person,or something else.

there are stores i refuse to go back to but i assume they neither know or care.just move on and enjoy your gun.

Can't speak for the other Turner's or the Ammo Bros in Cerritos, but I've had good experiences @ Turner's in Corona, and Ammo Bros in Ontario.

Just lack of customer service on their part. Not unusual in this day and age. I agree though that the lady might want to put her book down. Happened to me a couple weeks ago.

I went to Turners in Reseda today to pick up a rim-fire rifle that was in 10 day jail. The place wasn't busy at all with only 3 customers including me. I went to the counter with my paperwork and when recognized by a salesperson I said I was here to pickup a rifle and handed him my paperwork.

He went in the back and came out a few minutes later and laid the box on the counter. He proceeded to do the pickup paperwork while I inspected the rifle. This whole time he barely said 2 words to me. There was no warmth nor appreciation for my business, it was as if he was annoyed that I was even taking up his time.

Then he handed me a packet of papers and said "take these to the cashier to confirm the pickup then come back here to get your rifle."

The cashier was reading a book and seemed bothered that I needed her assistance. She review my paperwork then rubber stamped it and sent me back to the counter. While I was gone no more than 60 seconds the salesperson helping me disappeared. The only other salesperson was talking to a customer. My rifle was right there behind the counter. I said, "excuse me sir, I just want my rifle that is right there, here is my paperwork". He said "I'll be right with you". I said, "look, I waited to buy this thing, I waited my 10 days, the guy who was just helping me has disappeared so please hand me my rifle, here is your paperwork so I can be on my way, thanks". He gave me the rifle, took my paperwork and off I went.

At this point there were more employees in the store than customers and the guy helping me knew that I would be back from the cashier within a minute yet he disappears.

Yeah, I REALLY feel like Turners appreciated my business today. On the other hand, I bought a stripped lower from Riflegear last week and they couldn't be friendlier.

I hope Turners reads this forum.

I hear ya Shooter. Everytime I've been in there I've walked in hoping to buy, but within a couple of minutes felt as if the staff is bothered buy my questions, or that I even have any. In the end, I've never bought from Turner's, their loss.

Turners Corona is the only place I go! look for skinny mike at the gun counter. He's a nice guy and always ready to help you.

it is always much better for a merchant to be grateful for you selecting his establishment to do business with, though.

i support doing business with local merchants and support MY right to get reasonable service at a reasonable price; that does NOT include being treated shabbily by sales associates when I'm spending my $$$$ in their establishment.

well i find that esp. in the chino hills one with the massive length gun secton, the employees sometimes dont want to bother you if you're just looking. its not a lack of respect for the customers, but sometimes when I see a bunch of goodies, i just like to browse and take it all in. As long as they aren't doing all the paper work for a sale, they kind of leave you alone to window shop, but they gladly will let you handle an item if you ask.

Ya I think its that one cute brunette with blonde highlights that works the gun counter on occasion. I ended up showing her how to do the 22lr to 22mag cylinder change =D, shes a nice girl.
