    Thoughts on .22 pistols purchase

Looking to get a .22 pistol for getting in more trigger time without the cost.I was looking at the Walther p22 but dont know much about them.I see alot of folks like the rugers but the controls on the walter are more inline with my other handguns. And also im looking to spend < 300$ used. Thank sfor all input.

Many people have problems with the P22's, jamming mostly.

Get a Ruger, you can get a new 22/45 Target model for $318 out the door. I have a Competition Target model and just yesterday I shot about 800 rounds through it. They are super reliable and super accurate.

they seem to be around $3-400ish suggested retail price depending on model (see link above)

What? No 617 options. Oh you said 300 not 700.

When you say pistol, does that also include the world of revolvers? If so, I've found Taurus's Model 94 to be a fine choice and excellent for marksmanship practice.

I'm not sure i've seen a used 617 at a reasonable price. They seem to hold their value pretty well.

Found a you tube review and it agrees with you all. Walter p22 ok but ruger 22/45 and browning more accurate, reliable, and durable. They wouldnt have as their only .22 pistol but its cool just for fun. So how much do rugers go for?

If your other handgun is a Sig, CZ or 1911, you could pick up a .22 conversion kit at a reasonable price. That would pretty much guarantee that the controls are identical to your main handgun.

I'd say a Ruger 22/45 or MKIII, if you look around you can sometimes find new 22/45's for $200 and they are a good reliable .22LR pistol.

Maybe true but the P22 is 100 times more fun. My P22 is one of my favorite guns. Everyone loves shooting it. I would get the P22.

If it's trigger time you are looking for, the Sig and Glock conversions are pretty sweet. Only thing I could complain about is there is no last round slide lock on the Sig conversion. A+ rating otherwise.
