The CZ-452 Lux

The bolt handle, I did in my garage, that one I did in '07. It seemed a natural modification, I'v done seven or eight over the years, each one is a little different. I'm surprised CZ doesn't have one as an option.

I cut the ball off and make a new handle out of CRS then TIG weld the new handle on, it's not hard but it is time consuming.

The Europeans call that stock style a "Sows Back". It is a fast iron sight stock.

CZ 452 LUX

The CZ 452 series of rifles are an incredible gun and value. You will be hard pressed to find a better .22 bolt gun.

I used to own several .22 rifles. Now, the CZ is the only one I own and use. I have let many people shoot it and the reaction is almost the same; Wow, nice rifle. Where can I buy one?

As CB said, don't wait long the new rifles are not going to be the same.

P.S. Those rifle sights graduate out to 200 Yards and if you have good eyesight it is fairly easy to hit a variety of targets to that range.

So I still haven't bought this bad boy, but I think I might next month. Only thing, I decided from getting the Lux to getting the "Military Trainer."

It looks like it's the exact same rifle with the only difference being the type of wood (which doesn't bother me). I just want this supposedly good trigger and sight combo.

Anyone have experience with the "Trainer?"

I've compared them side-by-side, and yes, only difference between a "Trainer" and a "Lux" is that on the trainer the wood isn't as pretty. I'd still go for the Lux to be honest, but if you're tight on funds, the trainer is more than adequate.

I have one in .17hmr. Fantastic rifle, I really like the look of the long barrel..

I'm sure the Lux looks better, and if money were not the issue, I'd get that. But like you said, the Trainer would be the more responsible buy for myself.



And as for the rifle, how accurate can these be?

Iron Sight shooting is awesome with the curve. If you plan on scoping it, I would get the CZ452 American.

They are very accurate rifles, all of them.

I have a Trainer and an American. Accuracy is the same in both. 1/2" at 50 yards can be done with good ammo and no wind. The triggers are pretty good out of the box and can be improved easily.

I have the Trainer, and the wood is still very nice on it. It also has the scope dovetail built in.

20 barrel only but very nice wood and front / rear sights like the lux.
I like it.

I have the special trainer also. Tack drivin mofo. The beechwood is slightly heavier than walnut and stronger. Quality wood mallets are also made from beechwood. You can find some very nicely grained beech stocks on them if you look around.

+1 on 1/2" at 50yds is best you should expect as I used to own a few of them.

The older ones (the ones w/ actual shot targets instead of computer printed shot targets), I think they shoot better groups.
