With the "low," I should be able to get a better cheekweld on the hogback stock?

I will declare at this point that other than casually shooting 10 shots through a repro 98K scope, I have no real world experience with mounting a scope--or using one for that matter.

All I know is that this rifle comes with the 11mm dove tail, so I don't really need to do the so-called drill & tap. I was recommended the Nikon Prostaff.


Is that a decent, affordable scope that isn't total crap? If I did buy this, it would be my very first optic for a rifle, so that I can teach myself how to handle and use a riflescope properly...

I just picked up my UltraLux in .22lr yesterday. Mounted a Williams Receiver Sight (purchased at CZ-USA.com) and took her to the range. Instead of rambling on about the rifle I will just say that I don't think you can purchase a better rifle for the $$$. I would recommend a Mueller APV.
For the $ it's probably the best glass, for a rimfire, on the market.

Yes I do and it works fine so far about about 1K rounds.

Would a Nikon Prostaff be a good addition to this rifle in the future?

I chose this rifle because I know it shoots straight, and its iron sights are good.

I do know something about getting the 11mm dovetail rings and to make sure the mount is a little high. I don't have to worry about the front sight hood getting in the way, do I?

I think I remember reading in the CZ forum over on rimfirecentral.com that a fellow had a problem with the bolt handle clearing that scope. Might want to go over there and check it out.

I went over to rimfirecentral.com to check on the scope and the issue was actually about parallax adjustment, not bolt clearance. Sorry.

Now, it's the official 10day jail.


And I finally saw it in person (had never seen it before). It has nice, clean lines. The metal looks nice and so do the sights.

Yeah, I did notice the bolt isn't as smooth---yet. I've been cycling it and it does feel better. This is my first "new" gun in that all my other guns are used/milsurp.

I will be shooting it tomorrow morning, let me see if I have time to print out the target for December---this was kind of an impromptu planned trip but I do look forward to it.
