right now Big 5 has them for $229.00 is that pretty close to the best recent price or should I wait a little longer ( basic carbine wood stock ).

new ones have bad krinkle paint that strips off while firing and gunks up the action. barrel band, and trigger group are plastic, Barrels are painted instead of blued. Even the "stainless" is a matte silver paint.

Many have complained of deep burrs and machining marks even on the face of the bolt.

They just arent the same gun. Its a different animal.

It seems that now you have 3 of them, put the other two next to the new one and you will see the difference.. it's fairly obvious..

Just picked up one of the new ones. A local gun shop was willing to match the Big5 "sale" price of $229 for the basic wood stock carbine - so that's a pretty good price.

No burrs on the bolt but the woodworking around the ejection port is a bit rough.

I have Bull Barrels, Synthetic Stocks, Match Trigger Assm. on both of my previous 10/22's. Is anyone a 10/22 Expert who know the Changes and Dates or is there a site the breaks down this information? Not a problem if you don't know just don't pretend to be an expert.
