Which current .22lr semi-auto would you buy

I'd go with the S&W-22, it has gotten great reviews, or just a 10/22, there's no limit to what you can do it to in order to make it fit just what you want.

Now do yourself a favor and don't put your question on the end of a 3month old post as most will not look at it. Just start a new thread with you question.. Most will read the first few posts and see that this is old and never get to the end to answer yours..

if on a budget buy the Marlin otherwise this is one cool gun

But that Browning will shoot circles around either the Marlin or 10/22 and it will be very reliable. I have the BuckMark Pistol and I have owned numerous other 22 semi autos and for the money the Browning is great deal. A bit of advice there are so many .22 manufacturers making tacticool type. 22LR now, don't waste your money on looks you will just have reliability and accuracy problems with a lot of those tacticool guns. Buy a solid proven rifle the Marlins, Brownings, Rugers are all good. One model if you can find it is a Remington Nylon 66 that gun was used by a shooting performer to shoot small 2x4 blocks thrown in the air he shot 100k before missing one. There are many good solid guns out there.

Marlin 60

Replaced the plastic trigger guard w/ an aftermarket aluminum one, installed an extended charging handle (OEM is kinda small, especially w/ a scope), and topped it off w/ an el cheapo Simmons 22MAG 4x. All told, I have $350 in it. Not bad at all (especially considering I probably have almost three times that in my 10/22). If it shoots half as well as it looks, I'll be a happy camper.

That is a beautiful rifle. I hope you enjoy it. My first gun was a Marlin 60 and I enjoyed shooting that rifle for many years. Still have it, but it has been retired. I may have to get one of the stainless rifles like years. Very nice.
