    Advantage Arms .22 Glock Conversions

Does anyone have any experience with these?

Use case: Infrequent use at range by son; if he "wants to shoot the Glock, dad!" I'd prefer he start out with .22LR as opposed to 9mm.

They work fine if well lubed. Bit of a break in period but polishing the feed ramp helps. Can be picky with some ammo. No real issues with CCI std or mini mag.

I have one for my G17 and absolutely love it. Buy multiple magazines for it though, loading them is a PIA so it's better to have a few on hand.

I own multiples for my full size and mid size Glocks as well as for my XD's. I use them extensively to train armed professionals. They will run best after an initial break in period and prefer to run on anything of a higher speed (over 1250 fps rating). CCI mini mags will get you the longest run between cleanings because they are the cleanest in that range that I've used. Stay away from Remington yellow jackets and anything Aguila. Aguila is dirty.

Lube as recommended by the manufacturer.

They can be had at a decent deal over at the Glock Store (no affiliation) and they have them in full, mid and compact sizes for the gen 3 series of Glocks.

I've also used plenty of the tactical solutions kits which are of pretty high quality as well. Unfortunately, each makers mags are proprietary.

All in all, a great investment

I've used a bunch of different ammo and you definitely need to find the one that works best. What I have found is with most ammo is having a fine film of oil on the cases helps with tremendously with feeding reliability.

I have had mine for over a decade and no big problems whatsoever. It is ammo picky to cycle "flawlessly". Remington gold bullets runs great as they state on their site. Basically, their faq says it all and I would follow their guidelines.

glock 19 conversion. CCI mini mag 100% and Remington golden bullets, clean and lube really well.

Have used the AA conversion for about four months on a Glock 19 Gen 3. Started with a new unit and originally had about a 60 - 70% success rate overall. Polished up the internals and now have about 80 - 90% success rate overall. For mine, Blazer 40 gr solid point actually works a little better than CCI MiniMags.

Originally the failures were a combination of Failures to Load properly and Failures to Eject properly. After polishing parts and chamber, most failures are of the Load variety.

I agree with an earlier comment that it works better wet than dry lube wise.

This is a good and cost effective training tool. Shot grouping is not as tight and accurate as the factory 9mm barrel.

I agree with the earlier comment to have multiple mags on hand. Because when it works properly it is very easy to fly through ammo with a big smile on your face

I just asked about this in the .22 pistol thread, glad it got its own thread and what I should have done. Seems like you can find them for close to $250 so that’s pretty nice upgrade, I’d like to use it on my carry gun and teach my kids to shoot. Seems like what I can find they’re well liked. And suppose grabbing some extra mags like billofrights mentioned would be worthwhile.

Yeah, having to restrain myself from getting one right now....

I've already bought a buncha stuff (spare parts plus an OEM minus connector and OEM extended slide release) for a gun that is still in jail. This is turning into an expensive impulse buy.

I have two for G19 Gen 3, one is adjustable iron sights and the other is optics ready slide with Holosun SCS.
both like to run well lubed, I use BreakFree CLP. Both run very well with Remington Golden Bullet, Federal (not recommendedthe by AA) and Aguila HV.
The only issue I have is occasional failure to fire with Rem GB. I have no complaints with my two units and would buy again.

I bought one about 8 years ago and I've only used it a few times. Is always good with mini-mags

Have one for a few months now, its fun on a G17 gen3. Have 250 or less rds thru it, be awhike.longer before its broken in. Def get extra mags if possible. Fun for cheap vs .40 ammo!

I had a couple of Advantage Arms 22 kits over the years, ran great with Remington Golden Bullets, ran ok with CCI Mini Mags. Good luck
