I already have a Buckmark, a Ruger 22/45, a Browning 1911-22, and a S&W Masterpiece. I have some conversion kits, too: a CZ Kadet for my 75SA, a Kimber for my Series 70 Colt 1911, and an AA for my Glock 19s. My shooting buddy has the AA G17/34 kit I used to own, because we swap stuff on occasion and he wanted his kids to be able to shoot his G17 in 22lr. I just ordered a AA conversion for my G21.

The Ruger 22/45 and Buckmark are excellent. No doubt about it, they are keepers and will be heirlooms. But they don't duplicate the grip or trigger of any of my centerfire pistols. The conversions keep the frame and trigger, but lose weight (and recoil, and ammo cost).

Did some minor stuff to the slide and mags before hitting the range today.
It performed better than the first trip.
Then I discovered that if I pushed or pulled a little bit on the mags I could rapid fire the whole thing without a hiccup.
Wrapped a rubber band around the bottom of a mag, where the gap is, and was able to get it to function flawlessly, took the rubber band off and problems popped up again.
The next time I go will make sure to take a bag of them to see if I can find the sweet spot for each mag.

See if the mag is dragging on the bottom of the slide, a few swipes of a file would cure that.

            Will do.
Before going this morning I took apart the mags and checked inside them for any plastic burrs sticking out and lightly filed them down just in case they might've interfered with the follower or rounds.

Just tested out the new AA conversion on my G21. Tested it and the two additional mags I bought, straight out of the package, with MiniMag solids. All three mags ran perfectly. The included Glock-style loader works fine. Very pleasant to shoot. I will give it a spritz of One Shot before I use it again, as it felt as dry as it was.

Best price I found on this particular model was at Nimrod's Wares, $197.74 + tax, free shipping. Two mags on a different order were $38.24 + tax, again free shipping. Prices vary widely on both, so it pays to shop around. Other vendors were about $60 higher, many plus shipping, and magazines typically $25 each plus shipping. Nimrod's had both in stock and shipped quickly. Other AA conversions for different Glock models are priced differently - maybe the G20/21 model is a slow seller. My particular G21 came to me with an aftermarket trigger, and I wanted some cheap practice with it.

Traded back for my 17/34 kit, so I'm back to three - 17/34, 19/23, and 20/21. The 17/34 was old enough that it was in the plastic hard case they used to use. No room for extra mags. I like the newer soft case better, so I emailed AA and bought a new case. Nice folks to deal with!

My AA conversion on a G19 has worked very well with Aguila ammo. Anything Winchester- jam city. Federal AutoMatch is almost as reliable as the Aguila.

Got my AA XD slide working almost 100% now, even with the brands of ammo that were ****ting the bed on the previous range trips.
Added a simple rubber band to the bottom of each mag as a spacer and did some very light filing on the top of the mags where the slide passes over on the way to strip/chamber a new round.
After feeling pretty confident in its reliability I mag dumped 30 rounds of dirty doo-doo winchester bulk ammo and my eyes were watering from all the smoke.

Just a word of warning if you have a Vex shoe.

The Vex shoe takes up so much pre-travel that the AA striker plunger is more or less constantly "off".

It's fine with the OEM slide, but due to the different geometry of the AA plunger, it's constantly disengaged.

I use CCI MiniMags exclusively for reliable function. I sometimes use Remington Golden Bullets but expect failures.
