Back in the world of affordable rifles...
T/CR22 is a little more expensive than the base 10/22 but worth it.
Remington 597 Bull Barrel can't be beat for the price but needs a scope.
Both will out shoot a stock 10/22.
The 10/22 takedown is really fun because it comes with a little backpack that does not say "Look everyone, I've got a rifle" every time you take it out of the house. There is room in that backpack to add a few handguns as a bugout bag. I've even had the 10/22 w/scope, Ruger PC carbine w/red dot and a couple pistols in the bag together. It was very heavy though.
