Here is a pic of the gun afterwards, looks like part of a case still in the chamber. Possible out of battery firing or round not fully chambered??

That case is FULLY chambered.
An out-of-battery is when part of the case is NOT chambered and the case yields forward of the strong part of the case.
Rimfire's generally don't have a "strong" part though so there is ALWAYS some unsupported case which is traditionally surrounded by the bolt/slide when the case is seated in the chamber all the way to the rim.

From the picture above, I see an ammo failure unless the Kaboom was caused by a bore obstruction that we don't know about.

I was thinking ammo failure/double charge a possibility too. I just didn’t know if we were looking at half a case or a whole case less the arse end. I’ve yet to personally see one blown apart like that (and hopefully never do) so I don’t know what I’m looking at.

I think if I owned a Glock (particularly in an exotic or expensive caliber) it would be the perfect training tool, to practice drills & muscle memory with on the cheap (same as I do with my Ruger Mk.III vis-a-vis my 1911's).

There have been cracked slides with Mini-Mags reported... but the guy up there posted all kinds of ammo on his Instagram. CCI poly, Stingers, Win 333, Federal bulk, Aguilla. The picture before the kaboom was Stingers. I wonder if that did it? 22Plnkster shot Stingers in one of his vids and they seemed to work for him. IIRC, he also had good luck with CCI SV... which is what I'd be running if anything till Glock figures it out.

According to the guy (https://www.instagram.com/hul_z/) his kaboom happened right at 6k rounds through the gun.

He said he was using CCI Mini-Mag Target ammo.

Yeah I like my 922CA... buddy had the identical gun and had his plastic GSG sights break right away just from shooting it a few times. I haven't had issues so far. Pretty sure my Ruger MKII Target would not even notice a case failure, though the lower is not the hardest steel.

I think something is going on with these Glocks that needs fixing.

I have been in the market for a new semi auto .22LR pistol since I sold all of my MK IIIs before I moved. I recently handled a G44 at my LGS and it was...meh. I eliminated it from my short list, will most likely get a MK IV 22/45 Lite, figuring it will balance better with a can.

It is lightweight.

Haven't shot mine, but I had similar experiences with .22lr conversion kits for the gen 3 and gen 4 glock19 kits (finicky with ammo) and supposedly the 44 doesn't have that problem.

Classic Glock marketing. Create a class that allows ONLY their gun, and not any of the functionally identical but from a different country guns. They're good at making money at least!
