Not sure if overpriced is right, but inflation, increase in labor cost, increase in cost of raw materials, and CA premium are probably contributing factors.

Overpriced implies that the price is higher than the intrinsic value of the item. The intrinsic value is subjective to the shooter. What might be overpriced to you might be a fair price to me.

I'd pay $300-$350 if it's as reliable as they claim.

Walther's P22 sells for between 250-370 depending on the version that you get. If this makes it on roster and costs more than that it had better be a markedly better pistol.

That staple-gun trigger would be quite something on a 22.
On an 17-22 AA conversion where the slide is feather light aluminum mated to the feather light Glock 17 or 22 frame... it is fun as hell. The trigger is whatever trigger you have on that frame. Great training tool and great fun. CA is a pit, but in other states this Glock will sell a ton I imagine. Here we can have the AA's and they are good. Most likely I would not convert a G19 to .22 anyway. I prefer the 17 grip or even the 26.

Unfortunately. Hey a guy can dream or in this case work to change the law, right?

                  IMO, looking at past trends...
When they first become available, it will be crazy talk at $1000-1500.
Then after several months, it will drop down to $700-1000.
Hopefully, they'll stablize at around $500-700.

                    Glock 44 .22

Will the new Glock 44 be legal here in California?

                      Short answer- No

Does not incorporate the requirements for new firearms on roster. NO LCI or Mag disconnect

Yes, it is legal, but no, you cannot just go buy one.

                          PPT is one way.

How reliable are the AA magazines when dropped repeatedly on the range? Are they as solid as a regular Glock mag?

They are thick polymer with a decent spring and follower, plus they are single stack. But, just like Glock will have to deal with, they are feeding a rimmed cartridge which will line up at a certain cant or angle in the mag. IMHO, they are great to empty, not so great to load. MY Ruger MKII mags have a thumb slider to push down the stack and easily drop in the next round when loading.

I don't drop my mags usually, but the AA mags don't seem one bit fragile... don't seem like they would crack and do not seem like the feed lips can deform, which can be an issue on bad steel mag designs like P22's.

My AA is reliable until it gets dirty. Don't expect it to shoot the same rounds a MKII will shoot before it needs to be ungummed.
