im in the noob boat right with ya...

^^what the guy above said, the scope i ordered comes with 3/8" dovetail rings with 1" diameter to fit scope in - 3/8 dovetails are what fit the marlin best from what i've heard and read...you can pick up some pretty cheap at walmart though or anywhere online

gotta be one of the longest 10 days of my life lol

Hopefully your rings will hold the scope on the dovetail. It is REAL common with dovetail rings, for the scope
to walk off while shooting. Mine used to......

Sweet. Thanks for the clarification. Looks like I'm gonna buy the same scope as you from amazon.

Big 5 has a 11 day waiting period. So it's even longer than you had expected. HAHAHHA
It should say your pick up date on your receipt.

Took mine to the range last week, had fun. Put 400+ rounds through it, not bad accuracy wise, although I'm not all that impressed with the factory sights.

Got it home, tore it down. NO LUBE WHATSOEVER from the factory! Holy cow! I ran 400+ rounds through a self-loading rifle with NO LUBE and it didn't jam ONCE. Guts were pretty clean, too. Couldn't see any damage from running it with no lube. Word to the wise, do a complete tear down right out of the box before you take it to the range.

Noticed the feed ramp is a piece of cast stainless coming off of the mag well, just a little tab with a moldline through it. Yeeeeah, don't like that at all. Broke out the jeweler's file and removed the mold line, kept going 'til I had a flat surface. Three-stage buff with a Dremel tool (rubber buffing bit, hard felt, then loose felt wheel), a little Nevr-Dull, and a wipe down with a rag. Now I can see myself in it. It's like a little mirror.

Next step, free float the barrel in the stock. I was thinking of using a broom handle with a sheet of sandpaper pinned to it, but I don't have one that's the right diameter. Anyone done this? Got a suggestion for doing it quickly?

I'm planning on getting the silver DIP trigger guard and target trigger when they have them in stock again.

I had this prob. Tried 3 sets of rings and could not get it to stay. After examining the dovetail, it was obviously not cut deep enough. I wound up drilling and tapping the receiver and putting in a button head screw as a stop for the rear of the front ring. Stays put now.

As per someone's advice here, I just ordered the Pyramid Air one-piece mounting base for less than twenty bucks shipped. Gonna attach the $32.00 (shipped) Barska 3-9x40 Huntmaster to it and then stick on the 925RM. Should be fun out to at least 125 yards or so.....

Anybody know if you can bring of these to the range and put it at the can shooting stations?

                  Should I buy this:
                  Federal Champion 745 525rd 22LR CASE

                  or
Blazer CCI High Velocity 22LR CASE

                  Same price.

I had my cousin buy me a box of federal at Walmart. Then he also ended up buying me 5 boxes of CCI blue case although I told him to just buy me 1 of the largest box they had. DOH

This federal is better than the one at walmart. it works well with my mosquito which only like cci. I got two cases of this from dunn's. It works well with my marlin 925 bolt action.

My two "Liberty Training Rifles" - I used one to practice camo painting on. It lets me tell the difference between mine and my wife's. Took it out to the range today - the slings haven't arrived from the Appleseed store yet so I fired it unsupported from the bench but was still getting 10 rounds in an 1" group using CCI blazers. Standing with no sling I was getting 3" groups when I took my time but all were in the 4" black circle during rapid fire. Thing is so easy to shoot, and I can shoot it all day long for $20. I fired about 120 or so rounds - no malfunctions out of any of my four mags.

One thing I did notice that seemed odd though was the bolt seemed to be pitted out of the box. The side on the ejection port is shiny and smooth but the other side looks like crap.

Is this normal and should be expected out of a $125 gun or what?

If your saying that the Federal 745 load(525 round boxes) is better then the Federal 750 load(550 round boxes) your mistaken. According to Federal both boxes are filled with the very same ammo.

The 550 round box is exclusive to Walmart while the 525 round boxes are available through other retailers.

Tell that to my mosquito. It likes the blue box more. I tried feeding it the walmart stuff cause it's more convenient to get them, but my mosquito has feeding problem. I wish you were right.

wll that came str8 from Federal in an email to me this morning. I would thank that they know whats what. I asked them the question about what the difference is because they do not list the 750 load on their site.

"Load 750 is still available, mostly sold at Wal-Mart stores, load 745 is
sold at sporting goods stores, they are the exact same ammo, just
packaged different, load 750 has 550 rounds and load 745 has 525 rounds.

                                Thanks
                                Federal"

Oh well, maybe they don't know what they are selling...
