Marlin 795 thread

So I haven't really seen anyone review the Diversified Innovative Products triggers.
People have said good things about their trigger guards (although they are expensive) and the scope bases.
Are they as good as they seem? Is it worth it to get the package 3/8" wide trigger and guard?
Or will the drop in trigger be almost just as good?
I'd hate to later brake the plastic guard and wish I had bought the bigger trigger and guard at the same time.
How are the charging handles? How much fitting do they require?
They look a lot cooler then the factory one which I find hideous...
Thanks!Leave a comment:

Marlin USED to make the 922 (.22WMR)...hopefully they'll bring it back one day
It was one of the few .22WMR semi-auto rifles that WORKED!!Leave a comment:

Spend the time on a closer range, if you can get closer than 25 yards it'd be even easier. You can get it set up pretty quickly, hopefully your scope doesn't walk.Leave a comment:

This is what I do if I do not have a 25 yd target, I shoot the berm at 100 yds and I can see where my bullets go and adjust accordingly.I finally shot this gun, but I am so embarrassed at how bad I was! All the 25 yard rifle range spots were taken, so I had no choice but to shoot at 50 yards. I never sighted a scope before and didn't think it would be so bad out of the box. After 15 minutes it was time to retrieve the target and to my surprise, I hit nothing! Talked with a guy at the range and he said it was the scope lol. Will fix it tomorrow
Then I decided I'd shoot a pistol and let my cousin shoot my rifle. He shot it without the scope and was all lower right.
I really want to get a spotting scope, but I read that I need to spend at least $200 to get a good one! :-OLeave a comment:

Yup, that's the thing with this particular .22, it may not be the best rimfire out there (I'm looking at you Ruger fanboys!
) but its probably the best $100ish bucks you are going to spend on your whole gun hobby. Plenty of new shooters have shot mine and enjoyed it enough to pique their interest in shooting and that alone has been worth it to me! (plus, those soda cans don't stand a chance as this thing is pretty damn accurate out of the box!)
Go to Wally world and stock up on their $1.47 boxes of federal as mine loves that stuff! 500 rounds for $15 can't be beat! Have fun and enjoy your new .22.Leave a comment:

That Turner's deal for ~$110 after the $25 rebate is enough for me. That will be a great gun for my son to start with when the time's right.Leave a comment:

Yes, the mags are stiff to load, and the flanges on top tear up my thumb a bit. A "BabyUpula" speed load has been very helpful. Now my 9 year old daughter can load her own mags.Leave a comment:

FYI Turners has them in their spring flyer for $134.88 before rebate ($109.88 after!).Leave a comment:

Darn, I just picked up my 795 and didn't realize the front sight is slightly canted, left of center. I haven't shot it yet, so I'm not sure if accuracy is affected. it won't really matter because the sight is coming off once the scope is put on. It would be nice to have usable irons. Anybody else have this issue?
Yeah, the rear end of my rear sight was clocked over to the right about 3/16" of an inch. Straightened her out pretty well but I know I'm gonna have to bring some extra tools to the range the first time I shoot her......Leave a comment:
